thanks Spacejock, I got an email with the book this morning, its just the time differences (and me being impatient!) it will be good when they get it automated.

To be honest I'm less than impressed.

*Edit* After some discussion it would seem that whatever they're doing to the attatchment Google really doesn't like it.
I got a gmail account, I think they've resorted to sending it just in word doc format now. I haven't tried docs in my bebook yet (i find rtf the most stable in bebook so far). I think I just assumed as the first book was available in different formats they would send the same for the other books.

They're sending the ebooks in Doc format where the original zip is refused for some reason. Doc seems to have gone through okay, and is easily saved back out to html or rtf. Not ideal, but the important thing is that people aren't kept waiting.

OK, I read as far as page 4 of this thread, then realized I'd rather be reading a Hal Spacejock book instead. Gimme a summary: Where are they, and are they available yet?

Link takes you to the free download page for book 1, with a link to purchase the next books. This is also in Spacejock/Simon's post signature.

I must be missing something or else I'm having an aneurysm. That is the same link I was trying earlier this morning. I have book #1 already from last year, read it, loved it, wrote a good review for the "Let's Get Some Action Going" thread. Are books 2-4 available for download yet? I don't care if they are free or not, but I surely enjoyed the first book enough to pay for the others.

Next question: Why does the Freemantle site have descriptions of shipping charges, etc? It's an ebook, right? Not a pbook, right?

You won't get charged shipping when you buy the ebooks. I've bought all three and apart from a delay until the nice lady at Freemantle emails you the books it all went smoothly.

They have pbooks and ebooks, maybe you are looking at the pbooks...

Here are a couple direct links to 2, 3 and 4;

http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1092
http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1093
http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1094

Hope that helps...

The first (free one - download link at the bottom of the page):

http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1090

The next three are at

http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1092
http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1093
http://www.fremantlepress.com.au/books/1094

The price is in Australian Dollars, about US$3.50 or GB£2.40

This is a hack to their normal sales site, not ebook specific. There are no shipping charges added for ebooks. Once you've paid, someone at the publisher manually emails the zipped files to you.

Currently there are RTF, HTML and plain text versions in the ZIPs.

Thanks Everyone! I don't know what is wrong with me today, but I just couldn't figure it out. So I ordered them, paid by PayPal, and hopefully they will be emailed to me soon. The receipt says $9.85 USD, which is $3.28 USD per book at the current exchange rate, and quite a bargain!

I think they are next in line on my TBR list. I'm still reading (and loving) Legends II.

just to confim i bought the second book and there are no charges for p&p. Depending on your time zone you might have to wait till its daylight in Oz as they manually email the books to you, and I got mines in word doc format, simple enough to convert to rtf, (although a lot of the users in the bebook forum prefer the mobi format).
