yeah, I guess I do need to try it. Though the image of the superheroes flying out of the toilet coupled with my overall feelings on Preacher have kept me from reading it so far.

I do remember thinking his writing on Jack Kirby's Demon comic was very good and I thought it paired very well with John McCrea's art.

Amazon Prime Video just released Season 1 (I don't know if that will be the only season) of "The Boys." While the book is frequently better than the movie (or, in this case, comic better than TV show) it might be a way to try it out (if you have Prime).

I'll be passing on the Ennis Humble Bundle. Ennis has never really worked for me; I like superheroes too much to enjoy his decidedly cynical (and, imho, bitter) take on them.

For another couple of days there is a nice Open Road bundle. I'm probably gonna pick it up. I already own three of the books, but that still leaves 19 I don't...

Eh, I kinda agree with his feelings towards superheroes. I'm a comics reader still, but that's only because the '80's black and white explosion, Marvel's Epic Comics and then later DC's Vertigo helped me to see that comics don't have to feature guys in tights hitting guys in tights.

I don't see a big Vertigo sale, unless you mean the Sandman sale?

Just Sandman Universe though. I checked American Vampire and Sleeper and those were regular price.

The idea of a 'Sandman Universe' seems to go against the point of a more adult line of comics, to me I felt the same way when Dark Horse (a company I otherwise respected) tried rolling out a line of superhero comics in the '90's or when Vertigo themselves tried the Children's Crusade crossover. It felt like the publishers didn't understand what readers expected or wanted from the line.

On the upside, I did use the DC60 code to get a good discount on Peter Milligan's Human Target and I picked up all of the Vertigo Visions one-shots, a set of six comics where up and coming writers and artists were teamed-up to write a one-off story about an obscure DC character. Early DC work from Ed Brubaker, Eric Shanower, Guy Davis, Matt Howarth, Mike Avon Oeming and Mike Allred.

The two Alien Legion omnibuses are on sale for $6.50 each at ComiXology (or $5.99 a piece at Amazon US).

Alien Legion was a terrific, early series from Marvel's creator-owned Epic Comics. Basically, the French foreign legion, in space.

Right but you can't stack up the discounts like with Sandman-related stuff.

Granted, stacking is a moot point for me. Even with the extra discount, I'd still purchase via Amazon for DRM removal on relatively HQ copies. There's just too much JPEG artifacts from the original for my liking via the Chrome Comics Backup plugin (that's even if I choose PNG output).
