how can you (know) if using the external SD card on a kobo is terribly bugged/buggy if you've never tried it? i use mine (all) the time and it works perfectly.

i have over 2000 books all kepub's on my external SD card and it works a treat, obviously i can only speak from my own personal experience. why not try it yourself you might be pleasantly pleased that you did.

If you read the thread, you can find many people that had terrible problems with the sd card. I think many bug reports are more statistical relevant of one random guy that tells me "it works for me".

"It works on my machine" is the typical excuse of a lazy programmer. And I'm a lazy programmer that used it a lot of times.

it works flawlessly for me on 3 kobo ereader's not just 1. oh well never mind if you don't want to try what is imho a sensible suggestion then that's entirely up to you/your choice.

My God, THREE cases! Incredible! Three is the magic number, uh? Who cares about the dozen of users that had problems with SD card in Kobo... the guy have THREE positive cases. You win baby.

PS: I don't have an SD card to use with the Kobo, and I have no more time to do the beta tester for Kobo. I did it when I started the Kobo Bugs thread. I reported dozen of bugs and most of time it was useless, since Kobo does not have a bug tracker, you have to mail them and I assure you they are worse than a young advocate with no money. Now I have a full-time work and I have no time to do gratis what Kobo should do hiring person: testing the crap it sells.

I have no more time for this, and I have no more time for you. I will probably buy an Android e-reader when my Kobo will disgregate into useless atoms, that I hope it will happen at least after 20 years from now. And probably after 20 years we will have fantatic e-readers, with bells and whistles. Or the humanity is extinguished. I don't know. So goodnight.

I daresay (and I'm going out an limb, mind) that you're probably fed up right now, and not only with the Kobo and its ad nauseam proven lack of software quality.

I'd take a break from it, too, if I were in your shoes: which I'm not; I am merely an average e-reader user though an avid reader... and after a B&N nook Simple Touch (4 years) a Kobo Aura 2013 (4 years) I've found my e-reading peace with the Boyue Likebook Mars. My previous e-readers are certainly not gathering dust: they have passed on to the hands of my children, and they are fine using them, since they hardly have more than 10 e-books at the same time in the device memory.

Hopefully, as you say, there will be better devices in the future for reading e-books.

Did you read the title of my first post? The firmware works very well for how I use it. It is the best, for how I use it. It doesn't suck, and it isn't perfect.

Some I do care about, some I don't. I've complained about the firmware multiple times.
