So just played with one in the store.

It's nice, but not sure if I really want something that size. That picture was real, so the side bezels are much smaller than on the GL3.
It feels light. but that's hard to gauge that when the device is tethered in the store.
But once it is in a case, it would be bigger and heavier.
I was comparing it to the GL3 right next to it, trying to see what the increased resolution means. I don't have a great eye for this stuff, as it may have been slightly sharper, but I'm not really sure.
It has a new level of software: 50.0.
The storage is listed as: 6.22 of 6.42 available. (So no partitioning, it seems.)
The developer tools are still accessible through the nook icon.
(And as noone but me cares, the browser is still hidden.)

With all the people who bought one so far I'm surprised no one is giving us any info. Good e reader has a photo and quick write up on it now but no detailed review. I'm gonna go later today and check it out on my own.

4.4.2, same as G3. Actually, new nook fw is just a continuation of G3 fw.

Either:

1) B&N has temporarily pulled their stock to isolate stock affected by the dead pixel issue after receiving complaints

or

2) B&N hasn't planned their inventory distribution very well

or

3) This new Nook has provoked a very high level of interest
