Taking a look at my post, I did specify "using epub format". I find the quirks in RMSDK to be less annoying that the quirks in ACCESS.

remember your horses for courses comment? it's not all about what (you) or (i) want. search is useful i agree especially when you have over 3000 books on the device like i do, but that doesn't mean i still don't want the option of being able to put numerous collections on the new home screen like i could do on the old home screen.

it shouldn't have to be either or. on the old home screen i had both your preferred choice=search and mine=a dozen collections plus two book covers.

From my point of view, collections ceased being useful when the sheer number meant either using search or paging through 60 pages of collections some of which contained hundreds of books (and that was after I went on a bit of a rampage and modified my setup in an attempt to minimize the number of books appearing in multiple collections). I also remember having issues with Kobo's firmware being unhappy with a large number of collections though that was improving in later firmware and ghost collections.

Not to mention that out of the box, I did not see 14 tiles on the home screen and the multiple sizes for them was--to me--annoying. I don't even want to remember that massive search button if anyone wants to bring up a waste of screen space.

I don't think there is any one way is "best" for everyone. All they need to do is to fit the way we use our devices to be best for us. "There is no one True Way."
