Zelda, keep that storm to yourself, please! They say there is a lot of wind coming from the South West. But, as I live in the North East, it won't reach me until this evening.
Right now, there are some light clouds covering the blue canvas in the sky. We did have a magnificent sunrise though. |

I guess this isn't exactly a meteorological phenomenon but...
... we just had an earth tremor here. Very tiny, only 4.7 on the richter scale. But it was exciting. I live in an old and crumbling two storey brick building and I could hear the brickwork grinding away. I thought for a second the walls might collapse, but they didn't. It was exciting for me because it's only the second tremor I've experienced. The first time was in a hotel room in Manila. That was strong enough to shake me off my feet and make the venetian blinds sway violently and smash against the window frames. I recall going down to reception and asking about it. The reception staff flatly denied there had been an earthquake. I guess they didn't want a foreign guest whining and blaming the hotel and demanding a refund. |

Spring is in the air! I saw a robin flying through the dead tree branches and thought, "Poor little bugger! He's going to freeze to death!"

Plenty of robin redbreasts here - and the sun is blazing down in to the early spring air....

0 C here at 6:30 am, cold front moving in later, maybe snow or rain depending on elevation.
Good Morning, WDE. |

Same-same today (warm, humid), though we do have a tropical cyclone (Hamish) tracking down the coast, and the warnings for the possibility of it bringing its winds and floods down as far as Tewantin in the next 48 hours (which is where I live - Tewantin is the local weather station, a few kilometres away).
So, the next few days could be wet and windy, or just wet. Who knows though? Tropical cyclones/hurricanes tend to play it random. The surfs probably going to be up though, which will make for some nice body-bashing, but means we might lose a lot of our beach again suddenly, like last June. Cheers, Marc |

About 10C here today, maybe a bit warmer. Supposed to snow tomorrow, though.
![]() We call this time of year "would you $&$#$ make up your mind already?" The Muffin Man personifies Spring as this ditzy chick with an attention span of maybe a minute and a half. And the ability to teleport to anything that catches her attention (leaving the rest of us to the not-so-tender mercies of Winter, a rather jealous crone with a nasty sense of humor about the whole thing). |

Okay, I just had a new experience. I've been living here 18 months, and we've had them some distance off the coast before, but they've not gone to the following extent before...
In prime time TV, in relation to my previous post above, they just issued a "WOOP! WOOP!" Severe Tropical Cyclone warning message. It basically repeats the stuff at a couple of the links in my previous post (we're still 48 hours away, if it keeps coming, and they're predicting it'll be down to Category 3 by then), but...yeah, that's new. Cheers, Marc |
