Kindle 2 mushy button?
Does anyone find their kindle 2's buttons to be mushy? In particular, my "prev page" button is much more mushy than the other buttons, unless I push it just right. This is when pushing on the inside (side next to the screen). It's bugging me enough to maybe exchange...

Mushy Prev Button as Well
Have you contacted Amazon about the mushy button yet? I just got my Kindle 2 yesterday, and noticed that the Prev button on it felt really soft. The other control buttons have a noticeable click to them, but the Prev is more of a squish.
I haven't decided to exchange mine yet, but am concerned whether the button will fail eventually. If you contacted Amazon, what was their response? |

Ya, I got it exchanged. Previous page is much better, tho ghosting is more pronounced too. :-/ I hope they offer a firmware update to resolve ghosting issues.
By the way, on some of the other forums people were mentioning a different feel to the previous page button, so I think there may be something systematic that it causing the buttons the act differently. I know on the one I had, the "next page" button directly below "prev page" would move whenever "prev page" was pressed. On the new unit that doesn't happen. |

Well, I called Amazon about the mushy button, and their response was that as long as the Prev Page button still works and goes to the previous page, they will just note it, and I have the next year for the warranty to cover any problems with the button.
So, the verdict is to either not worry about it and move on, or order a replacement and return the current one within the 30 day return period. |

Mine is a bit mushy too; perhaps this is a universal problem? I'm not particularly concerned though, considering it still works fine.

I decided to keep my Kindle. The odd thing is that I decided to work the button a little for a while, and alternately press the Prev Page and Next Page below it a bunch of times, and then favor the left Next Page for the last couple days. The end result is that the Prev Page button now seems to have worked out the mushy feeling, and is starting to click normally.
A little luck and persistence payed off I guess. |

No problem with the buttons on mine. Only issue is the left next page button is very very slightly loose; you wouldn't notice it at first. It just pivots the tiniest amount left to right. Not worth getting a replacement K2 over!
