Cursor not keeping up with arrowing up and down file I am editing.

Deleted Fonts, no change.

Deleted CSS file, at first, very responsive, then bogged back down again.

Closed Preview Windows, speeds up.

That will likely always be the case with machines that have limited ram from Sigil 0.9.11 on. I believe you mentioned yours was 4Gb?

Just a quick note to say that my Windows 8.1 system has 16gb of RAM and Sigil exhibits most of the problems that brent63 has, although I have noticed that embedded fonts seems to be the main culprit. Without embedded fonts, I can usually edit for approximately an hour before I need to close Sigil and restart it, but with embedded fonts I'm lucky to get 15 minutes. And, like brent63, closing the Preview window seems to help.

Will be maxing out my laptop on 4/17. (8 Gb) Will let you know how it wroks after that.

When I open sigil 0.9.13 the panel Book Browser does not appear. I have to press alt-F1 and then it overlaps the text panel. Wndows 10 desktop.

Double click its titlebar to dock it

OMG. Whenever the preview goes afloat, as it does sometimes, I have spent an endless time (five whole minutes perhaps) fooling with it before it behaves.

I think I've raised this with a prior release. When I upgraded to 0.9:13 I lost some (maybe all) of my keyboard shortcut customisations. I was able to get them back by patching the [shortcuts] section of the sigil.ini file from backup - IMO I shouldn't have to do that.

The problem was that 0.9.11 and 0.9.12 had issues with ini file corruption due to trying to use utf-8 encoded ini files but support for utf-8 ini files in Qt is severely broken. We only found that out after the fact and had to backtrack quickly. After a normal upgrade, you should not have any more issues, unless something else is broken we don't know about.

I honestly don't know why he keeps losing Keyboard Shortcuts he's configured. I've never lost any, and I can't remember any other reports of it happening. Corruption or no, there's simply no reason why a Sigil upgrade should reset custom shortcuts back to their defaults. The only way that should happen is if the Sigil.ini file is deleted/renamed/moved and then regenerated by launching Sigil. There has to be something else going on.

I checked and the code to set keyboard shortcut preferences and the related shortcut manager code had not been touched in 4 years. So whatever is happening, it is not due to any recent changes to that code.

I only lose things from the [shortcuts] section, the [open_with], [mainwindow] and other sections seem to be untouched. I'm not sure if the [shortcuts] section loses settings when I do the update itself, or on first use - next update I'll try to remember to check that.

I'm not sure on this - but it could be that the shortcuts I lose are those where I remove or replace a default shortcut so I can use the shortcut for something else. FX: I remove F2 from toggle Code/Book View and give it to Rename, and I remove/replace whatever defaults to F7 (Well Formed Check ???) and give F7 to Spellcheck.

I suggest in future versions of Sigil (without Book View) to set F2 as the default shortcut for Rename.

"open with" does not exists in any shortcut so it can not be mapped or remapped.

That's not at all easily accomplished (especially when up to 5 external programs per filetype can now be defined), or it would be already.
