PW2 Does jailbreak survive firmware 5.11.1.1

My PW2 that's jailbroke has version 5.10.2 and I leave it in Airplane mode most of the time but did sync a week ago and back to airplane mode. Now it's been popping up about an upgrade, I'm assuming it's 5.11.1.1 but it could be 5.10.3 as I didn't install that.

Does a jailbroke Kindle survive upgrading to 5.11.1.1?

If it doesn't can I delete "update.bin.tmp.partial" to stop it from asking about the update?

If you delete update.bin.tmp.partial, it will update without asking when you connect to wifi.

I also think update.bin.tmp.partial is not what triggers the asking.

The usual advice is to make sure your hotfix is up to date for the JB to survive.

What’s weird is usually there’s early updaters who confirm if the jailbreak survives, but I can’t find any reports if it does or doesn’t. I usually wait till then to update.

Pretty sure I've already seen posts from either PW3 or PW4 5.11.x users with JB. That post has mostly to do with initial jailbreak rather than updating already jailbroken devices.

Personally not updating beyond 5.10.1.3 until the new KFX DRM has been cracked.

I've updated to 5.11.1.1 and can confirm that jailbreak survives.Although bare in mind I'm on PW3.

Any point updating to 5.11.1.1 from 5.10.1.3?
I just JB my new PW4, and I don’t want to lose that awesome screensaver feature.

The book cover screensaver is the only reason I jailbreak. Amazon added custom fonts and I’ve been hoping that they’d add the book cover screensaver but no luck so far.

The jailbreak survived on my PW2. However, the 5.11.1.1 firmware for PW2 models doesn't seem to have the read/unread filter that users of more recent models reported.

I believe they're doing a slow roll out of the feature. I have a non-jailbroken PW2 that auto-updated to 5.11 but it was more than a week (might be closer to 2 weeks) before it got the Read/Unread filter.

To be honest, implementation isn't as good as on Kobo. For example, it doesn't allow filtering inside collections making it pretty much useless for me. Only difference now is I see a "Read" banner instead of 90-100%.

Yeah, read/unread filters are useless to me as I delete books off my Kindle when I've read them.
