Those who actually like Twilight may also enjoy Charlaine Harris's "Sookie Stackhouse" series, first book "Dead Until Dark". A very different view of vampires there. (Less sexy than the TV series derived from it, "True Blood") I found them fun and light.

My better half loved the Sookie Stackhouse books, but never really got into True Blood.

On the other hand, she somehow managed to greatly enjoy the Twilight movies (suddenly I felt so much less ashamed of enjoying Godzilla movies), but she has zero interest in reading the books.

Tom Robbins' Still Life With Woodpecker is $1.99 at Amazon US.

If you've never read Tom Robbins before, this is a good place to start. It's my favorite of his books that I've read.
