@plusz
Sorry, I have no idea why the download link isnt working. This time I have compressed the file in *.tar format (10 mb, 4 parts). Here is the link to the shared file on my google drive, I checked the file downloads on my friend's computer. https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qH...8VnsOFPkx_n_xs Hope this works!! |

Over on their BBS forum, Onyx has now explicitly said that that was the reason why they have temporarily pulled the update and that they are working on fixing it. Quote:

![]() So I have uploaded the uncompressed (untampered) files in my google drive, here is what I uploaded: knote_tar_unsuccesful (these are the files you tried previously and didnt work, so ignore it but I left them in case) kreader 2_release (this is the folder I extracted with adb procedure you sent me) kreader2_release.apk (this is the *.apk file which is in the previous folder, and I tried to compress it and didnt work.) The link to the shared folder on google drive: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1qH...8VnsOFPkx_n_xs I hope this will work this time. Good luck!! |

After I stopped using Chrome, its a lot better. The random shutdowns are less frequent when the battery power is over 60%. I am looking forward to the next update to fix these issues... Thanks for the update!! Last edited by Faeryink; 05-05-2019 at 01:43 PM. |

The apk file was fine this time.
![]() I like the Neo reader 3.0. Works well on fw 2.0.1 except there's no handwriting recognition, just I can't find a way to trigger it. (EDIT: I've just watched again the promotional video on YT and I realized that handwriting recognition was not even advertised for side notes, only for the new knote app). Jump to page is finally easily and directly accessible ![]() Regarding scribble compatibility with Neo reader 2.0, it's like @Question Mark described. I guess the Neo reader 3.0 has a built in compatibility import mode from previous versions but then the old version doesn't know anything about the newer format or location. I would really love to have the version 3.0 with a simple button for the side-notes switching between Global/CurrentPage. Another wish regarding the side notes, it would be nice if they had a title field (text, not handwrite), so then in the TOC list one could have a view to see them as a list with page number and provided title, much like a TOC list. I hope Onyx will let the user decide whether the notes correlate to specific pages within a document or to the whole document.

Download the file kreader2-release.apk which @Faeryink shared, copy it to your reader storage, use file manager to install it. It will replace (upgrade) your Neo reader 2.0 to Neo reader 3.0. To have both, install a modded version 2.0 which I shared a few posts earlier. If you won't be happy with 3.0 you can revert it back to 2.0 using android app settings.

I read only pdfs on max. Can't see why wouldn't you be able to open any pdf but if it doesn't work uninstall it. You can use adb to invoke the native android settings app which let's you uninstall Neo Reader (because the boox launcher hide it), or you can use another app to do it, for example ES file explorer, ReLaunchX, etc.

Has the pencil in the note app pressure sensitivity in Onyx Boox? I mean - are the strokes thin or big according to pressure?
