IBooks/Kindle previewer differences

I created an epub original from an InDesign file. Converted the .indd to html then in Sigil did the editing. In Ibooks the file looks pretty good, it also looks good converted to a mobi file and viewed in the K Previewer. But there are certain text that is getting overlapped which shows only in the KDP file. I can narrow it down in the css but I see wierd tages in the file. Here is a screenshot of the view with IBooks on the left and Kindle Previewer on the right. Any help with fixing this?

These are from the same epub, both the serif and the sans-serif versions?

If that's a fixed-layout ePUB, which it looks to me that it is, you cannot use that at the KDP. The result won't even be as good as what you're showing there. Is it?
