And then loads nothing (at least with iOS Safari).

That does not look like a proper redirect to WaPo’s download link. I’ve been unable to find a download link at WaPo that yields a searchable PDF.

Just sayin’.

I'm sitting here reading the doc in Safari on my Ipad, and running searches. The upload is stamped as being contributed by Steven Rich, who works at the Washington Post. Also the link works fine in Windows 10 Firefox browser. Possibly an issue on your device or browser, suggest trying another device.

ETA, if it makes you feel better about authenticity in addition to Reason linking to it, Steven vouches for the searchable PDF and links to it today from his Twitter feed.

Found another source for searchable PDF (on Scribd). But now have the WaPo ebook version. Looks like they did a great job with it (both with formatting and additional content), and am happy to abandon the attempt to read the PDF. On web site, it still says ‘PreOrder’ but it is available (probably a time zone thing).

Looks like the other (real) editions are a day or more out.

I pre-ordered the $1.49 version at Amazon. It said it would be released today. Today they changed the date to the 29th so I cancelled it and got the $8 version.

I have it on my Kindle. I also converted it to epub easily with Calibre. Not for any reason. I just wanted to see if I could. I plan to check it out on my Kindle over the weekend.

If it's listed as a Kindle book, does that mean it's in the Kindle book format? Or could it still be a PDF?

I saw one for 2.99 but not available until 4/22. If that date holds, I think I can wait until then.

The one I got was an AZW3 when I downloaded it on Kindle for PC. I was able to convert it just fine. It's a normal ebook file.

The text of the published report is public domain. Some of the copies available have commentary and other added material, which are under copyright.

If you performed OCR on the published report with nothing added you are free to attach it to a message here. Compressed, it should be well under a megabyte.

If there are numerous OCR errors, those kinds of copies are already available.

There are of course errors, but it's very much readable. Finereader does a superb job I think. It's 4 MB.

I'll send a link to anyone that sends me a pm.

Has anyone that bought the Washington Post version from amazon received the X-ray file yet?

The listing claims x-ray enabled and one of the reviews mentions how use x-ray on it is, but I have been on wi-fi a long time, and still no x-ray. (Or apnx, does anyone know whether page numbers are supposed to work?)
