Only for devices which will not charge or will not charge properly (fully).

I have spent a lot of time and effort (and enough money to buy a new kindle!!) replacing the USB connector port and the battery, it has not resolved the charging problem.

It was a good experience to learn how to do it but I'm disappointed it didn't fix it!

I'm learning slowly...where did you get a replacement shunt from and how do you replace it?

No I didnt fix it.:-( I`m still trying but time is luxury I dont have.There is another clue which sticks me to Voltage related problem.If you look at succesfull boot you can see difference in setting DRAM mode registers.MR6 register is related to memory voltage margining (VREFDQ).

Interesting I will look at that again on the weekend.

What's the best way to measure the battery's capability? I bought a replacement battery but after all I'm not sure that the battery was really the problem. I'd like to compare the capacity or capability of the 2 batteries from the Kindle cli somehow.

Or maybe there is a better way? I have a multimeter...

As I'm not getting very far with this KT3 I'm wondering if there is a way to remove the screen? I might see if I can buy another one with a broken screen and combine them. It doesn't look like the screen will come off easily though and I haven't found anyone else that's done it so far.

Busy days. I had to suspend this problem for a while but one day I will come back to this problem. BTW. I dont think it is battery problem in your case.
I tried 3 times and I destroyed all of them. But it is not impossible. During last try I unsticked about 3 quarters of screen when it cracks. I should have been more patient. Firstly I used too much heat. Screen went black. Secondly I tried toluene but it melt downs more things then just a glue. Last time I used metal string and 100C heat. Heat it up and move a bit with the string,heat it up and move,etc. If you will succeed let me know. I wish you good luck.

Thanks, I haven't been brave enough to try! I saw a teardown of a 2018 model the other day and the guy used acetone to free up the glue behind the battery, not sure if that would be an option...
