For a test, just put the book in the root directory. Otherwise, any directory whose name doesn't start with a dot.

@davidfor: There is no folder shown for my kobo book in window explorer. I just drop a dpf file to the root folder. I can see the file copy OK to the reader,from my window explorer, but from the KOBO reader it still say 'no books'. I think I will want to try the image that you mention. Please send me the link and instruction. Thanks,

hi there davidfor, just got my mrs one of these (N647b) kobo ereaders and it also seems to be bricked, really could do with the firmware if you still have it please. new member thanks steve

@Markca07: I sent a PM, but, I'm not sure if I had the right device. An earlier post suggested the N647 version, but, you didn't seem sure. If it isn't then, the image won't work. Check the model number on the end of the device near the USB port.

For instructions, see Memory Upgrade Mod Guide. It is for the Glo, but the basic steps and tools needed are the same.

@davidfor: Thank you for the links. I just read the instruction. I didn't realize that there is a removable SD card on the KOBO reader that I need to write the image to. Thanks again.

FYI - I found this youtube video(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nduY8RT1kVQ&t=920s), which show you how to open up the KOBO Wifi to gain access to the micro SD card. BTW - the video credited Davidfor for all the help.

hi again davidfor. ours is still not working, ours is a N647B not the n647 i’m not sure if that is the same as card image or not..? but all we have not is a frozen screen that never shows loading or anything..? help
