New Nook ereader clears the FCC
A new Nook showed up on the FCC website this morning. It has BT, Wifi, and a headphone jack, but that is all I can discern due to an embargo.

I expect it to launch by the end of May at the latest.

Hey, maybe this is a dumb question. Your blog post says "B&N has embargoed almost all the interesting details until October", then later says "I am guessing the new model will be launched in the next couple weeks, or by the end of May at the latest."

Wouldn't that mean the interesting details would be available by the end of May?

Going by the request letter, B&N has requested a 180 day confidentiality period after the Grant of Equipment authorization. Check EBOOK READER BNRV700-A for the actual text of the letter. As to why Nook Digital felt that more than the standard 45 day period was needed? Your guess is as good as anyone else's.

I'm guessing it's a tablet rather than an e-ink device (based on Bluetooth and headphone jack). I'd love to be proven wrong. In general, I think the Nooks have the nicest hardware design of any of the readers.

Yeah, because neither Barnes and Noble or Amazon nor anyone else has ever confusingly referred to tablets as ebook readers. c|net: Kindle vs. Nook vs. iPad: Which e-book reader should you buy?

Still, I don't mind being wrong. For all their faults, new e-ink Nooks are almost always more interesting than the competition.

That said, I'm happy to see Nook is still "in the game." I wish they would fix the firmware issues with the Glowlight 3, though.

I can't believe I'm about to say this but in fairness to GEreader, I presume that image was from FCC website, so really it's fair game to be used without credit. Of course, I have no doubt they likely wrote their story based on reading about it at The Digital Reader.
