The Chinese version of 2.1 seems to be a work in progress, and that's probably why it hasn't been released in English yet. The PDF issues mentioned above, as well as the Scribble toolbar not minimising like NeoReader 2.x, where the reasons why I rolled back.

Can you confirm this is the link you used off the Boox main site? I keep getting a verify error when i try to open this upx file.

Trence, which device are you trying to rollback?
I see no such indication in the thread and the upx file is *specific* for reader.
I'll tell you my experience.
I updated firmware by changing language to chinese and downloading the new On The Air.
As for rollbacking it i went to

select Nova Series and

(so i just discovered that the link you posted is the Nova one :-) )

while downloading, i was alerted from google drive that it couldn't scan such a big files.
Once upx file is downloaded, put it simply on the Nova file system go to firmware device and make it run.

No problem at all
