No way to jailbreak if my Kindle Voyage is running 5.10.3, is there? I don’t think I can downgrade to 5.10.0.1 anymore

Is there any chance for a KW3 with 5.10.2 firmware?
Thank you in advance |

OTA firmware upgrades after jailbreak
Hi there,
I'm new here. First of all, thanks to all of you for sharing. I have jailbroken my Paperwhite (fw 5.10.0.2) and haven't installed MRPI yet. I thought that, upon enabling the wi-fi connection, the device would upgrade to the last fw version (5.10.3 I think), but that's not the case. Is this normal? Should I upgrade by downloading the fw from Amazon servers? Cheers! Last edited by Barbas; 03-07-2019 at 03:19 AM. |

I'm on 5.10.3 - Is there any way for me to downgrade or otherwise jailbreak my Kindle? If not I'm thinking of returning it for a new one.

Absolute legend, this worked perfectly on my PW4. Thanks for the great guide and hacks as always.

I just tried 2 different brand new Kindle Paperwhite 4 8GB with special offers from Best Buy and both came with 10.0.1.3 out of the box. (clicked complete registration later and went straight to settings to check version).
I'll try one from Amazon to see if its any different. Sent from my ONEPLUS A6013 using Tapatalk |

Anyone bought a new PW4 from Amazon.com (US) recently? What firmware are they shipping with right now?

PW4 firmware
I just Purchased a Paperwhite 4 last week and it came with 5.10.3. Needless to say I'm pissed off about not being able to jailbreak it. It sounds like Best Buy may have some old stock that they're working through. I just may have to return this one and get one from there since I hate not having full control of my own device.

I wonder where some of these older firmware ones are coming from. Too bad you didn't get one from the same place. |

I expect the PW4 32GB LTE version would still be pretty much guaranteed to have jailbreakable firmware. Although to be honest, I think SO/non-SO is just a setting that's stored on Amazon's servers rather than an actual separate SKU. Last edited by ilovejedd; 03-16-2019 at 11:52 AM. |

I bought a PW4 today, which is on 5.10.1.2* firmware.
The Serial Number prefix is G00102 (India). Will it be possible to jailbreak this? As I had not seen the S/N prefix mentioned in the 1st post. Edit: 5.10.0.2 Last edited by aascz; 03-18-2019 at 04:17 PM. Reason: typo |

The Indian variants are technically supported, yes, but yours is running a FW version too recent for the software-only approach (which isn't surprising for an Indian variant).
