Rama II by Arthur C. Clark and Gentry Lee is on sale for $1.99 at Amazon US.

Not nearly as good a book as Rendevous with Rama, unfortunately.

Take a look at the first book for a number of Anne McCaffrey's series at Amazon US. Most of them, the first book is currently discounted.

The Melanie trilogy from Pern - all 3 books are discounted:

This is volume one (of four?) n the English translation of the Legends of the Condor Heroes, first published in Hong Kong in the 1950s. The second volume, A Bond Undone, was just released last month.

Both are the "preferred text" with the additional content I described. If you "Look Inside(TM)", both have a "Note/introduction on this Text" that describes it, with slight differences in the thank-yous to the UK publishers that are missing from the US "tenth anniversary" version. (I believe UK-based Headline Books were the first to publish the expanded edition, as part of a reissue of Gaiman's works with new cover art)

Besides that, the two editions are slightly different. The US "tenth anniversary" edition has another introduction, written in 2010, an interview with the author, "discussion group questions", and an afterward, in which the author responds to him being an Englishman writing about America.
