Yes. We still left cssutils in the Windows/Mac bundled python environment. We may drop that in the future and just use the bundled css_parser instead. We can either have plugin devs whose plugins use cssutils switch their plugins to css_parser (it's the same api), or I can modify the plugin launcher/wrapper to hook any calls to cssutils and deliver css_parser instead. I'm leaning towards the latter. Mainly because modifying the plugins to use css_parser directly will immediately make those plugins fail on Windows/Mac versions of Sigil earlier than 0.9.11.

Linux doesn't use a bundled python for plugins and only needs to make css_parser (available from PyPI) a dependency (like lxml is) for it to be available to plugins. That will work with my plan to create an import hook in the launcher/wrapper as well. That way, there's nothing for plugin devs to do. Unless they want to start using css_parser directly, that is. Which they're free to do if they want to make Sigil 0.9.11 the minimum version that Windows/Mac users will need to run their plugins.

FYI, I have just pushed a commit to master to fix/workaround this Qt bug into Sigil itself for macOS. When a new release is made, the qt_styles.qss user workaround will no longer be needed.

Sadly, the Kindle Import plug-in does not appear to work on macOS 10.13. When I select KindleImport, I immediately get the following error: "Error Parsing Result XML: Premature end of document"

Also, I can't remember if this is how it was in Sigil 0.9.10, but when I close all epubs so there's no window open, there doesn't seem to be a way to create a new blank epub except to quit Sigil and re-launch. Maybe I'm losing my marbles, but I seem to recall that in previous versions I could go to the menu bar to create a new epub. In 0.9.11, going to the menu bar only gives me the options of: Services, Hide Sigil, Hide Other.

on MacOSX Mojave im getting this error message

qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "cocoa" in "/Applications/Sigil.app/Contents/PlugIns/platforms" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available platform plugins are: cocoa (from /Applications/Sigil.app/Contents/PlugIns/platforms), cocoa.


Launcher process crashed

when i try to execute plugins. How can i fix this? Is this related cause i made use of PyQt?

Yes, I think this is related to a new Qt framework QtDBus in Qt 5.11.2 which does not exist in Qt 5.6.2 but that is needed by the libqcocoa.dylib plugin for the gui.

I am testing a new build with this being added in.

I will let you know if solves the problem.

If so, I will release a new Sigil-0.9.11 build (0.9.11a?) with this and the other fixes made soon.

Still no luck. Checked the rpaths and things. Something with pyqt5 plugins is messed up.
I will need a day or two to track this down as the released version passes testplugin but ...

Okay, I think I have a fix for the problem running PyQt5 related Sigil plugins on Mac. I pushed it and will create a new release build and test it tomorrow. If so we may get a fast 0.9.12 release posted soon.

Also, I've gone back to 0.9.10, and it appears I'm not losing my marbles. When all windows are closed, 0.9.10 has two menus in the menu bar: Sigil & File. But in 0.9.11, it only has one menu: Sigil. Without the File menu, I can't figure out how to create a new epub without quitting Sigil and re-launching. If this can be addressed in a future release, it would be greatly appreciated.

Unfortunately, that is yet another Qt bug in that they changed how the menu bar is managed. I won't be able to fix that before the next release.

The best solution for now is to not close the initial Sigil Window until you are ready to quit out of Sigil.

Thank you for the Sigil 0.9.11 update.

I have a small problem with Sigil in Windows 7:

Highlighting the contents of the "find" and "replace" fields with a mouse is not working correctly like it used to. Sigil does not appear to respond correctly and the result is frustrating. All other highlighting in Sigil appears to work properly.

This is something I do frequently to delete the contents of find and replace and insert something different in both fields.

As I said, it's just a small niggly problem and Sigil with Calibre remain two of my most important applications.
