The really dense stuff, especially if PDF, I actually prefer my 28inch 4K monitor for. Although the results of my cooking may well look like the book's photos would on my Kobo
Given the kitchen environment, the cooking related books make it there on my old H2O. Most of the images are of the final product so I just need the text for ingredients and directions. I tend to print the ingredient lists using a utility that sucks up multiple ingredient lists and spits out a shopping list but I do want the directions in the kitchen with me.

The PW4 is worth it. Battery better than the Oasis. It is very thin compared to older models and fits well in back jeans pocket. It indexes so slow is my only negative.

Have you tried plugging it in while it is indexing? As others have said, this seems to speed up the process significantly.

Very true, although the Oasis does index significantly more quickly than other Kindle models due to having a dual-core CPU.
