I usually get a cold or the flu during or shortly after the Christmas vacation. A lot of people need to get things done, even if they're not well. So a lot more is floating around.

It has now progressed to a blocked and runny nose. But it doesn't feel like it'll be a bad cold (yet). My throat is already doing better. That's usually my weak point; I almost always get a throat infection when I have a cold. It goes from a sore throat to a phlegmy stage and then to an itchy cough. I've been using the Strepfen spray and it's doesn't taste nice, but it works great. It reduces the swelling and usually I can skip the phlegm and itchy cough stage.

A couple of weeks ago both my parents and sisters had a nasty cold, I was very glad I escaped, but I was cheering too early (as we say in Dutch).

Usually a throat infection also means I'll get a cold, but not so far, keeping my fingers crossed. A throat infection heals quicker than a cold.

On the other hand, I'd rather have a throat infection/cold now than in two weeks' time when I'm going on vacation.

I’m annoyed at my new paperwhite. stupid me reset instead of restart in error the other day. Finally got all the thumbnail cover photos to show and it is still indexing. This devise is slower at indexing than any kindle I ever owned. I even disabled power save function thinking it will speed things up. Nope

I worked for JCPenney and was sick all the freaking time and not the small stuff.
I work in a call center now still a lot of employees passing it around. What makes me mad is I get the flu shot every year and still get sick bad every year

My SO got a nasty case of flu a few years back at a social function we attend. She got a flu shot, but there is more than one strain of flu, and the one she got wasn't one of those the flu shot immunized against.

We know who passed it along to her, and still twit him about it.

No, disabling power save won't help you. You are stuck with the speed at which the device can do it, which appears to be slower than your previous models.

My reader is one or another Android device, using a multi-format reader program so I don't have to care what format the book is in. (I prefer ePub, but have other things as well.)

Doing a device reset on my Android devices is not the sort of thing you can do by accident. The menu item that can trigger thatn is tucked away where you have to go looking, and you get a "Are you sure you want to do a full reset and wipe the device back to factory stock?" question you have to say yes to to make it happen.

If it's that easy to do a reset instead of a restart on a Paperwhite, it indicates questionable UI design.

When I add new volumes to my Android devices, I have to tell the reader software to rescan so it notices them. Volumes are stored on an external microSD card. One annoyance is that on one device, the reader software can forget previously stored indexing, so I'll see things like a blank favorites list which previously had quite a few things defined. That may be a quirk in the Android implementation on the device, rather than a reader software bug. It's significant that I don't see this issue on a device that doesn't have an external card slot and everything is in device storage. It bites on devices where the volumes are on an external card.

I picked up the cover I ordered off of Amazon for my Aura H20 Stupid me bought the wrong one I purchased the one for the 7.8 inch ereader my ereader is 6.8 I am so pissed I stalked amazon locker all day too. I will relist it on ebay eventuality

Mine as well. Ever since my father remarried around 1993 he never once called me or invited me home for any holiday. Not even Christmas. That's over 20 years with no family contact.

I got an earful when he almost died the other year because they could not get a hold of me but what can they expect when they expelled me from their lives and not once invited me home in like 25 years?

I currently have a teenage daughter in tears because she can't figure out how to manage everything that she should do today. Of course this is taking up time that could be used to get things done.

I do understand you, if feels like they are waiting for you to idk be sorry for something that is not even under your control.

I have the same problem with my mother. I don't think it's her fault cuz in the past I gave the reason to make her judge me or still think I'm a bad person. I feel a bit tired of trying to show how I have changed, so rn I'm trying to focus on myself and my girlfriend. We want to build a family, so I just want to be mentally health and be prepared to support her as she does to me.

It's just hard to put it in practice tho, cuz thoughts are really strong and they can put you down as fast as you started thinking. I kinda feel jealous of other people that are "normal", people that are not overthinking about small things from the past or overthinking about problems that do not even exist.
