Maybe. You'll have to be more specific--a story URL with author notes you want to exclude would be best.

Thank you for your quick response. This is the story I would like to remove the author's notes from https://www.fimfiction.net/story/827...angeling-queen I would also like to maybe remove all author's notes from being downloaded from Fimfiction.net

FFF can't remove author notes or comments when the author has included them inside the chapter text.

However, when the site has a common mechanism for author's note that can be reliably found, FFF sometimes has code to remove such notes--it varies by site.

For FimF there is such a setting. You can setting include_author_notes:false in your personal.ini:

## fimfiction.net chapters can have author notes attached to them.
## Setting include_author_notes:true will include them with the
## chapter text.
include_author_notes:false

If you're talking about things like the chapter Alternia: Question and Answer Session, FFF also has a mechanism for ignoring specific chapters:

## You can exclude chapters from a story by listing their chapter URLs
## in ignore_chapter_url_list.  Chapter URLs will be normalized before
## being used, so you can use either longer or normalized chapter
## URLs.
## NOTE: This will cause numWords(word count) to be off for most sites.
## This setting should be used in a specific story's section.

Is there a way to by-pass the certificate verification for the Stars Library? Below is the error I get.

The first FAQ in the list explains how to update the SSL cert chain on Windows.

If that doesn't fix it, let me know and I'll look again after the holiday cheer wears off.

Story requires confirmation of adult status: (https://archiveofourown.org/works/12223206)

I read about the updates no longer requiring login data. I have tried to download the story both with my data in the .ini file and with it cleared. Not sure what's going on. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I did what the FAQ says and it's the site's certificate that's expired itself. It actually won't directly load anymore (you have to confirm that you understand it's not safe etc). According the what I can see in the errors on the certificate it expired 12/22/18 so idk if there is anything that can be done

I suggest contacting the site administrators to ask them to renew their cert.

You can try use_ssl_unverified_context:true. I don't know if that will override an expired SSL cert or not--it's a work-around we included for an obscure SSL bug.

I have no trouble accessing the link from AO3 nor do I have any troubles with accessing their website. They have done some server work in the last week or so according to their twitter profile, maybe that's the reason for the trouble you've been experiencing?

Thank you. I tried that but it didn't work. When I go to the Stars Library with Microsoft Edge it advises me not to go to that website because their certificate is not yet valid or has expired. I clicked to "Go on to the webpage" and it proceeded, but it doesn't appear to give me an option to add an exception like I did with my firefox. However I am not sure if just adding an exception will fix the download issue.

No, it will not. I don't know of anyway to use FFF with starslibrary.net until they renew their SSL cert. Sorry.

UPDATE:

I reported it through the site contact page and got back:

We are aware. you can bypass the error and still get to the site. With the holidays, our hosting co is taking long time to get back to us.

So presumably it will eventually be solved.
