Im not happy with this update
The update made every app open by default in Contrast Enhanced mode for some reason. Long press on the app and uncheck "Open application contrast enhancement" and it should go back to normal.

I had the same thing in my M96 Onyx Zeus but app contrast setting didn't work well (example : Goldendict )

1) for me there is nothing to enable for the "Battery Optimization" and I only have there Google Play services for which it says "optimization not available" - so basically that's useless

2) there are indeed some settings that disappear on their own. For me, regularly, I need to re-enable the Button Savior in the Accessibility Service ..

Cover for Mars

I opened my Mars on Christmas and the new cover I ordered just arrived. The finish is, indeed, different from the one for the Plus, both front and back. The front has a pebble finish and, unfortunately, the back is slippery, whereas the back of the previous version has a softer, nicer, non-slippery finish. The cutout for connections is at the bottom for the Mars, the top for the Plus. Much prefer the top connector, the pebble finish and the softer back. Too bad there aren't a bunch of third-party covers available and I'm sorry they moved the connectors to the bottom. Hard to have anything connected there if it's propped up for reading. Also much less intuitive to click a button on the bottom than the top, at least for me. Other than that, I've been well satisfied, so far.

I change the orientation to portrait reverse with an app and use it upside-down. I'm currently using Rotation Control Pro, because it remembers my last orientation and sets it automatically without requiring me to manually set it each time.

Thanks. I may do that. I had tried reverse portrait with the old cover yesterday. I guess it's a decision on which is the most annoying, the slick, hard back, opening the cover from the wrong side, staying with the finish on the old cover after paying for the new one. I'd ordered the new one thinking it would be nice to have the pebble finish. Does Rotation Control Pro rotate everything or do you have to choose the apps?

It will rotate everything. Although it can be used on an app-by-app basis, I have not done so.

Thanks! That does seem the best solution. Amazon does have the old cover for 14.99. Mine is in still in good shape. Still don't like the front cover finish but really don't like the hard back on the new one.

You should consider a popsocket or an off brand "pop up phone holder" for it to help you hold it. I wanted one but it has no buttons and its larger than the PW2 but not $230 better.

I did have readers w/ uneven backlighting and it bothered me. This one doesn't have that problem IMO.
Thank you very much for this feedback. Nice to hear this!

Is there anyone who feel the screen is fragile? I've seen many people on Chinese forums who complain about the screen is too fragile.

Just got my Mars this afternoon. Question - does anyone have issues with Google Play? I was able to get Google Play installed very easily, but when I tried to install any of my paid apps (Nova Prime, Moon+ Reader, etc.), it asks for me to pay for those apps again?

Any ideas?

Mars screen-frame gluing issue.

Hi

Mars arrived.
But it has a production quality issue.

Frame not glued properly so there is a gap between the frame and screen at the bottom of the screen. see pictures.:

Does anyone has similar issue?

I requested replacement. (Q: Who should pay the post back cost? -bought from Aliexpress)

Otherwise the Mars screen is beautiful and seems fine for me.

Robert.
