Hi Scotty, Borsa Bella also has some more "masculine" fabrics, even plain colors, including black. You can just contact her from her home page and she will send you some options.

i think the right combination is one of the covers that has hinges (I have the Amazon cover) plus a netbook case. As you may know, a netbook is a very small laptop with a 9" screen that is intended to do e-mail and web browsing. My Kindle fits inside with a small amount of room to spare so it's perfect for a booklight or the cable. You can find a padded netbook case at most computer retailers like Staples, BestBuy, etc. This makes an excellent travel combo. |

I use a belkin netbook sleeve for the kindle 2 with the amazon case. I bought one of these bags from etsy. While nice looking , they really aren't the greatest protectors for ebook readers. They are quilted inside but offer no foam padding or anything. My netbook sleeve has more padding on it and feels more protective. I do want a sleeve for reading the kindle out of its case so I am waiting for the 10th when sf bags has there sleeves available. These have great padding and plastic inside the foam for shock absorber for the screen. These etsy bags have a smaller version for the kindle out of its case but I see no indication that they have beefed up the protection. A quilted lining just won't cut it for accidental drops or putting the kindle in a briefcase imo.

Hey Lisreed, I think the case you got was meant to go with a cover. I know she is making some sleeves now, I got one and thought it did a great job of protecting. I am sure she would work out an exchange with you. Or you could use the bigger one for make up or other travel storage. |

Oh that's fine. I actually gave it to my step- mom as a gift since she loves having travel bags. Its very nice, I just prefer more padding around the kindle when its out of the case.

				Not so cute but mega-affordable

What about a heavyweight twill messenger bag from WalMart? Faded Glory; comes in olive or rosy red. Eight bucks!!! The front zipper compartment is large enough to store the K1 AC acaptor and USB cable plus extra room for my extra SD cards. It's extra roomy inside; the K1 fits with room to spare, so it should fit the K2's increased size.

That looks like a great travel bag or if your going hiking or something and a fantastic price. Personally I was looking for something with a slimmer fit, that would fit into my actual purse, for day to day use. |

I had one the woven Cole Haan covers and I was very disappointed in the quality. The cover did not lay flat on the Kindle and it was too still to fold the front cover behind the back cover in order to read one handed. The stitching was uneven. The leather itself was decent. For $120 I expected a *lot* more.

It's a cute cover, but I am going to stick with the Oberon.
