You can read the first post where you can see a very good instructions, especially from the sentence: "To install, copy..."
Also, you can use google translator. It's enought to understand what to do.

Thanks guys. Yep, I misunderstood some of the earlier items in this thread.

I am thankful we can have Collections (or shelves) at all. With the large storage available now on these devices allowing thousands of books, we do need some help to manage them all!

i am on kobo glo hd, and firmware version 3.19.5761

autoshelf installed and i can see auto shelf logo when connect to pc. when i tap it inverts colors.

i change the autoshelf_example.cfg to autoshelf.cfg

my book folders in root directory. where .kobo and other folders found.

what i need to do now?

i find what i need to do. ordered a boyue t65s e reader from aliexpress.

it have build in file explorer. OMG it is too much for this era. an e-reader with file explorer!

in addition to the logo it should actually say "autoshelf" after you tap it, that's when it's on and will create collections when you unplug usb

I agree, why would anyone want something as primitive as a file explorer when there are much better ways to catalogue your books.

I've never used autoshelf as I use Calibre to manage collections on my Kobo. It works very easily and very well.

Have you looked into the new firmware to see if you might want to upgrade the firmware?

You are ordering a bland nothing special Reader just to get a file explorer that you don't need. If that's the reason for buying a the T65s, then you are ripping yourself off. Yes, cancel the order. The Likebook Air uses FBReader and that's a really poor reading app. So do yourself a favor and cancel the order or send it back for a full refund. It's overpriced for what you get. You get a Reader that has mediocre firmware and poor software for reading.

i just download fbreader to my phone for lookup.

it is perfect for me. in settings i can change font size, line spacing, justify and hypnation settings.

in library menu i can navigate as recent, favorites, by author, by series, by tag or file tree.

it is all what you expect from e reader for as a have a 900 ebook collection owner.

plus 1gb ram 16 gb storage

since i am using kobo, i feel like i am using pocket watch. ok it another taste but not for me.

i really hate kobo. so happy for it is not in my life any more.

It also sets the Series and SeriesNumber properties of books. That way you can see the folder and series number anywhere in the book list. Otherwise it will show the filename.

Note there is a chance this will corrupt your database. Make backups of your .kobo/KoboReader.sqlite.

To install, copy KoboRoot-AutoShelf.tgz » .kobo/KoboRoot.tgz

To run AutoShelf, tap the display once while the Kobo is connected to the PC. (Note it will only process books that already are in the Kobo database, so this is an additional step after copying new books on).

To customize behaviour of the addon, there is a config file in .addons/autoshelf/autoshelf.cfg [installed as autoshelf.example.cfg, to be renamed by you]

To uninstall, set uninstall=1 in the config file, then run AutoShelf one more time.

Edit: Update for 4.6.9960 firmware.

Edit: Use fbink instead of pngshow to show image (no other change)
