Yes, configure calibre properly. The basic instructions are in https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/Kob...nd_Collections. The most common errors are not getting the collection columns correct and not having Metadata management set to automatic.

It is probably about the collection column... I'll try it later today.

Hello,
For people who come from a kindle: is the vocabulary builder (hidden option) as great as on Amazon devices ? I love it on my paperwhite and it keeps me from switching to kobo.
Can someone make a short video to show it ?

I think Kobo doesn't have that option, at least, I can't find it in my Kobo Clara HD, if someone knows, that'd be great to know how to use it.

It is not an officially supported function. You need to add "MyWords=true" into the "FeatureSettings" of the config file. Then an option is added to the dictionary popup to add words. And you can view them from somewhere. I think under "Activity" in the main menu.

Interesting! Do you know if it works in any language, eeven one not supported by Kobo, such as Hindi?

It uses the dictionary to tell you the definition of the words. So it should work with any dictionary language you have installed.

If you mean the vocabulary builder, no. Under Activities -> My Words you just get a two-column long list of all the words you added. It is very basic. If you tap one of the words, the dictionary pops up giving you the definition, similar to how it pops up when selecting a word whilst reading.

Not having one gimmicky feature that Kindle has does not mean that Kobo isn't a solid competitor to Amazon's reader.

Kindles can't display series information on sideloaded books. But I wouldn't say that means that the Kindle isn't in the same league as Kobo. They're just different.

(Sorry, I'm aware this is coming off as a pretty fanboy-ish post.)
