Well, yay. Because of the half-off sale, I was able to cash out my remaining coupon credit with an additional 12¢ out of pocket on a wishlist book, two days before I was going to have to have one of those calls with Audible CS to restore my coupon balance. It would have expired as a result of their using a FIFO basis with my last coupon credit purchase instead of going by expiration date. I wasn't looking forward to it. Not that I wouldn't have gotten my credit back, but the nuisance of it.

There is now a banner up on the Audible site. "Member Thank You Sale" up to 70% off. I scanned a number of books and all were 50% off, which is still quite pricey to be honest.

I've always had problems with FIFO; especially when people who don't think treat it as gospel. While sound in principle, it never takes into account that sometimes newer stock will expire before existing stock.

Doesn't seem to include Lite members. Now I've run out of reasons to continue my membership other than lightening my wallet of $10 every year.

Same here. I'm pretty sure all former members see it. I'll be glad when it disappears. I hate seeing it everytime I open Audible.

They may have fixed the issue; it looks like in my case they used the expiration dates and not FIFO.

Good to know for future reference. I was relieved to have dodged a potential issue and my purchase maximized the bang for the fake buck, so no regrets.

It's their standard half-price sale. It knocks the price of some books below the price of a credit (which varies by plan and promotion), so it's definitely YMMV.
