This is a repeat offer and the best price this Echo has ever been and is better than any of the BF/CM deals. BF/CM pricing was $70 for 1 and $120 for 2.

Today only, so hurry if you're interested.

Alexa, what's the weather going to be like today? What time is dinner on Thursday? Can you order me a pizza?

Ask and you shall receive with this two-pack of second-generation Amazon Echo speakers at an amazing price! With this set, you can give not one but two gifts that are at the top of everyone's list. Alexa, what else can the Echo do?

Well, it also lets you catch up on the news, tune into the radio, and get sports scores using a cloud-based voice service that keeps learning and adding new features all the time. Pop on a streaming service and enjoy immersive sound from the 360-degree omnidirectional speaker, or ask Alexa to set a timer so you don't accidentally burn the pie. You can even connect to select Wi-Fi-enabled devices--so you can make lighting changes using the sound of your voice without leaving the comfort of your couch. From Amazon.

You'll also receive a bundle of cool apps and trial offers for even more entertainment options.

QVC also still has the 10-inch Fire tablet for $100--it's gone back up to $150 at Amazon. And it includes vouchers for various extras, including a customizable case. Two-pack is $195. I don't see an end date, but it is a limited time offer.

I took advantage of that offer yesterday and after further discounts, my final price was $43 each.

Edit: this offer is still valid.

I finally set up my Roku Ultra, bought for the Black Friday price of $50. I love it! It took forever to set up--not anything much I had to do, but it had to update and find my channels from my existing account and that was really slow. (It spent forever "aligning solar panels," which mystifies me, as I don't have solar panels. But whatever.) The voice search, which I thought I wouldn't care about or use, is great--it worked perfectly every time I asked it for find something, and it's so nice not to have to use a clunky interface to type in a search term.

If this goes on sale again before Christmas, I may well buy another one.

The price is still good, as of this writing.

I'm curious. If it is a micro SD memory card, wouldn't it be good on any other devices that accept micro SD memory cards? I'm under the impression that that is a standard size & shape. Has Amazon created a proprietary micro SD memory card, good only for Fire Tablets and Fire TV, so therefore a standard micro SD memory card won't work?

I don't plan to buy either one of those devices, but I'm asking for the benefit of those in MobileReader land who are considering purchase of one or bother of those devices.

mSD cards are an industry standard, so they'll fit in any device with a mSD card slot.

And no, Amazon has not created a proprietary memory card. They use standard mSD cards.

This is good to see. I bought one too but have yet to set it up; the main reason I bought it was to utilize the voice search. Like you, I find searching on the older Roku clunky.

With my old Roku I was getting a lot of buffering, even though I had excellent signal strength. With the new one on the same TV, that's not happening anymore. I have no idea why.

It's also nice to be able to use just the Roku remote to power on and adjust volume. I wish it had a sleep timer, though.

Yep, but if someone's still concerned about it, the non-Fire tagged cards are on sale for the same price. Sale's still good as of this post.

If you're buying the card to increase storage for apps on a tablet or phone, the ones I've linked are probably better for that purpose. That's because they have the A1 rating, which means the card's better at random reads and writes, instead of just being good at sequential ones. Both cards are class 10 as far as speed goes, and will be fine for storing videos/audio/ebooks/etc.

For anyone who bought a Roku: I'm seeing that there's a special offer of $35 towards Sling TV and a free month of Showtime. Both are for new subscribers to those services who activate a new Roku through January 13 (Showtime) or January 23 (Sling TV).

I had nothing whatsoever in my packaging about these offers and just learned about them, but the terms say you need to redeem the Sling offer during initial setup. Which I didn't do.

This may have been posted earlier, but the deal's still available in case anyone missed it. New subscribers can get three months of Spotify premium for $0.99 and get a free Google Home Mini, with free shipping. Existing premium family plan subscribers can also get the free Google Home Mini, just go to step #2 below.

Be sure you do the steps in the listed order. You must sign up for the three months at $0.99 first, otherwise you'll get charged $14.99 for the family plan upgrade.
  1. Go here and sign up for three months of premium for $0.99.
  2. Next go here and upgrade to the Spotify Premium Family Plan. This will change your three month trial to two months, but not charge you extra as long as they've already charged you the $0.99.
  3. Click on the link in the e-mail they send you to redeem your free Google Home Mini. Since the list price is more than $35, Google won't charge you shipping.
I grabbed one overnight without any trouble:

Spoiler:

This is actually a combination of two different offers from Spotify. The $0.99 for three months of Spotify is only available for new subscribers. The free Google Home Mini is good for new and existing family premium subscribers by the primary account holder.

You can cancel your subscription before the two months are up by following these directions.

I take no credit for this, as a friend linked me to a deal site with the instructions. I thought I'd share it with everyone here as well.

Thanks! I see you can now connect the Google home mini to a Bluetooth speaker, so I think I will try this.

Thanks a lot

I now have a Mini headed my way sometime after Christmas. I'd like to thank Spotify for sharing the love with existing members, but question why they never emailed me about this offer.

Does the mini really lack an aux in? I'm looking at specs but see only Bluetooth.
