PW4 Unacceptable Hyphenation

Does anyone have this same experience? At least I found one person on Reddit with the same problem. Look how words appear to be randomly hyphenated. My PW2 with the same font setting does not have this problem.
Hope it will be fixed in the next firmware update. :'(

The hyphenation points seem entirely reasonable to me.

I see no issue at all with the hyphenations shown. "Improve-ments" and "credit-able" in particular are not merely acceptable, but optimal it seems to me. What is your issue with them?

My Kindle hyphenates and I have no problem with it. I can remember when Kindles didn't hyphenate words and that was a problem.

It would be helpful if the original poster could elaborate on what specific aspect of the hyphenation they find unacceptable.

Agreed, taking a closer look at the sample, the OP's problem could be words that aren't being hyphenated instead of words that are.

the—shire (second to last line) looks strange but that's probably the fault of the book, not the Kindle. There should be a space, and maybe a different kind of dash character...

That "shire" isn't hyphenated, though. That's am em dash, or maybe an en dash, and there's no spacing at all. To me, it looks more like the sort of dash used to replace a name, as in "—Smith"

That's exactly what it is, yes. There should be a space before it.

only hyphenation error (but not in this example) that comes to my mind is hyphenating the last word before a page break. But even there I'm not really sure that violates some style manual, and that's probably just a matter of taste.

It's a pity that the OP hasn't come back and told us what it is that he finds objectionable.

He claimed in post 1 that the pw4 hyphenates differently to the pw2.
I am not aware of Amazon changing the kindle hyphenation engine though, no mention of that in any reviews?

They also said "look how..." and offered the screenshot as proof. Proof whose validity has so far not been obvious to all who have replied to the OP.
