Are you sure all the devices have the problem? Or some of them have it? Or that all of them are noticeable?

i don't know that the devices i've mentioned (ALL) have the various poor quality control issues but we do all know definitely for a (FACT) that some do.

claiming the devices that i've mentioned (ALL) had the problems would be as foolish as claiming (NONE) of them do. which is exactly why i haven't/won't be making such a claim.

if they wasn't noticeable then how would people know/see that they are there?

a quick search of the various Kobo ereaders KA1, Clara HD and the Forma will soon find the issues/problems for you or anyone else for that matter.

best wishes koboy

Occasional defects are inevitable with devices manufactured en masse. If you search for the Kobo Aura, H2O2, Nook, Kindle, etc, I'm sure you'll find complaints, too. The question is how widespread is the issue and what's the return policy of the manufacturer/store.

Also, in general, more people are more likely to post online in order to complain while those happy with their purchases rarely leave feedback.

Goodness knows I've seen plenty of posts on MacRumors' iPad forums with complaints and pictures of backlight bleed (on an all white background in order to find and highlight the defect) or some such that's barely visible in the photo much less during normal usage.

Note, I don't actually have any skin in this game. My only Kobos are the Aura HD and Glo HD neither of which get much use as I find the Paperwhite more comfortable to hold.

all reasonable points well made as far i'm concerned. regarding the Kobo devices i've mentioned in this thread i'm very grateful to the owners of those ereaders for taking the time out to inform all of us that there are definitely some hopefully not all that do suffer with various quality control issues.

i for one i'm very glad they do because in my opinion they saved me a lot of possible hassle/money

the only skin i have in this game to use your expression is i very much hope the poor quality issues Kobo are having with some models is resolved sooner rather than later.

best wishes koboy

you need to read the person's comment who started this thread (post 1) in which they themselves clearly refer firstly to the lottery not me.

you suggested it might make them feel i think they are idiots you mentioned the word idiots first not me. please read the actually words i post and stop putting your own (WRONG) interruption on them.
And I'll repeat what you said: Please read the actual words I post.

What I said was NOT putting words in your mouth.

But, yes, I did apply my interpretation of what you said. That is of course what we are all doing: reading words and interpreting them. I'll stand by my opinion: To me, most of your posts come across as saying:

"The Kobo xxxxx is complete crap and anyone who buys one is an idiot".

Again, my opinion of your intention after having read them all. Maybe I am wrong, but these posts are so empty of any real content I can never see the point of them apart from the above.

and again all my electronic devices work 100% perfectly and not just ereaders. of course that might not be the case if i owned a KA1. Clara HD or a Forma.
As I have a Touch, and I know very well how it works, I find the idea that it works "100% perfectly" absolutely amazing. And as I have read lots of comments about the original Aura made here, again, it makes it hard to think it works "100% perfectly". As I said above, the absoluteness of the statements make them hard to take. Maybe it is just that you use so little of the function of these devices that you don't see the bad areas.

Gimme a break.

Can I please suggest we all ignore koboy’s childish rants. He is just stirring the pot, trying to get attention without actually contributing anything useful.

look the comments/posts i make maybe pointless to you which is fair enough. but any negative comment/post that someone makes on any Kobo ereader that is currently available to buy is anything but pointless to me quite the opposite in fact i find them very helpful.

i want to know the cons more than the pros obviously i know that is only my subjective opinion.

regarding my 100% satisfied/happy or works 100% perfectly let's make this simple i am referring only (TO ANYTHING I BUY BRAND NEW) and obviously that does include ereaders.

if they don't work 100% perfectly which means they have flaws/defects/poor quality control issues then i either take it or send it back regardless of what the item is the point i'm making is a general one it doesn't just apply to ereaders.

in your opinion personally anyone who uses the word childish in my opinion is showing the very thing they are accusing me of.

i would also add you don't have to read my comments or more importantly you don't need to comment on them abusively.

go back to post 9 from last night when all i did was defend my comments something in my opinion i shouldn't have to do and neither should anyone else unless they are factually wrong. which they are most definitely not 3 out of the 4 latest Kobo models do have poor quality control issues .

the truth is still the truth not matter how much some may not want to read/hear it.

your post is really constructive NOT.

is anyone else going to join the mob?

best wishes koboy

Good point.

A person's motivation for recently joining and posting should be taken into consideration, whether it be the original poster here or the one you quote. It seems obvious, but possibly not for some.

Indeed. Whatever the intent, it did fix a problem for me. The signal-to-noise ratio in this thread was getting skewed most unproductively for my tastes, no longer an issue.

Please point to where I have said that negative comments, or posts that describe the problems should not be made. Or should I point to where I have explicitly described what a problem was and under what circumstances they occur? Or where I encourage someone to do that so that the rest of us know what the problem is?

But, being negative just for the sake of being negative? That I don't like. Or being negative without backup of why. Your posts add no value. As I said, most of your post are effectively "Kobo is crap, don't buy it". That adds nothing useful to the discussion.

And as I said, I have a Kobo Touch. I know how they work. If you are "100% satisfied/happy" with it, then your standards are pretty low.

That's enough, folks. Respond to the OP or drop it; it's past time to let this pointless wrangling go. I'll add a reminder that people are not to discuss who might or might not be on their ignore lists.

huh...I wasn't aware there was that much controversy with the Forma. There are only 2 things I have "issue" with, the power button, that I think lots of people find not ideal. And I can't figure out why they left the swipe-up to unlock after you power on. I hope that they remove that in a future update (or did I miss a setting for it?). Mostly the swipe up is a head scratcher for me, I just don't get what purpose it serves on these particular devices.
