Then it just doesn't make any sense. Are you getting the trade-in pop-up with the offer? Where is the process breaking down?

Yes, I was getting the pop up. Oh, and another weirdness. I would get the email with the return shipping label. Wrong return address. Call in, they can't issue me another one (that phone call was over 30 minutes alone). So I had to go through the whole trade in process again. Still wrong address.
I give up! I told the final lady I was just going to cancel the order. I talked to 2 different people and typed to another. Still no go. At this point I'll just be happy to keep my Amazon account. I'm sure they don't like complainers!

It depends? I did a (non-JB but working) PW3 trade-in back March to get a jailbreakable PW3 and got the discount immediately.

I did another PW3 (bricked) trade-in last month (it's a different promo so I'm eligible) and this time, I had to wait for the discount until Amazon has received and checked the device.

No idea why I had to wait this time. Maybe Amazon does occasional spot checks?

When I click the box above Add to Cart that says Upgrade and Save with Trade-in, I see

If it were me, I would continue to argue with Amazon, talk to a supervisor, and ask for both the 25 percent off and additional compensation for all the hassle.

My Black Friday purchases? Only two more Echo Dots. That's it. As my friend says, "Needs vs. wants, needs vs. wants". I don't really need anything anymore. Trouble is, I'm finding I don't really want anything either. Oh well, saves me money. About the only thing I still need is a dumpster, ... so I can get rid of all the stuff that I previously thought I needed.

Yes, I should, but my head is killing me! I don't do stress well. I just talked to my husband (he's out of town) and he asked me just how much 25% was really worth to me. What kills me is I was going to buy 2 Fire 10s. They were not losing out in this sale. Not to mention the fact I own 14 devices between Kindles, Fires, and two Fire sticks. I literally just bought a Paperwhite on Thanksgiving. And did the majority of my Christmas shopping on there too. Argh!
Ok, through griping. 25% is just not worth the stress they are putting me through. Besides, I'd still have to get in there and figure out how to get a return label with MY address on it instead of the incorrect one they keep sending me. Nope, just don't think it's worth it!

Just got back from Staples where I bought Mum the Echo Dot 3 since she wants to try it now and Amazon won't ship the one I ordered until Nov 30th. So now the Dot on order will go to another aunt (my mum's sister).

Suddenly they've all gone from hating all technology/refusing to learn "how to internet" to wanting Alexa.

Nothing really new this year, but I decided that "home automation" might be mature enough by now to give Alexa/Echo a real try. Previous attempts at Alexa on a tablet were failures. The Alexa app on my phone actually seems not too awful at least.

Jumped in and ordered 2 Dots and Smartplugs. Unpacked one pair yesterday and, so far, it looks like it will work for simple light controls and scheduling. I'll probably still bluetooth from my phone for music instead of stream though.

Were your Dots and smartplugs packaged together? I've received my smartplug but no Dot3 yet - seems rather inefficient to ship them separately...

I had an interesting experience at Target.com this morning. I attempted to order 4 Echo Dot 3s at $24 each plus a 15% discount (today only). When I hit the button to place my order, a blank page popped up. Refreshing gave me a page stating my cart was empty. Checking further showed I had no recent orders. So I went back to the Dot page to do it again and lo and behold, out of stock!

This is the first time I've had my shopping cart vaporized at any store, so I called CS for help. Long story short, the rep said more stock would arrive later this week and she noted on my account that I would still get the sale price of $24 each plus the 15% discount.

I'm quite satisfied with Target's solution to this problem
