I’m a day or two late, but I’m very thankful for Tubemonkey and the other contributors here. In four years since discovering this subforum, I’ve accumulated 60 selections for $40 thanks to the membership promotions and waiting for 2-for-1 credit sales, 40 deals of the day for ~$3 each, 50 whispeysyncs at less than $3 each, and over 1000 free titles. At my current pace of one book a month, I’m going to have to live forever to hear them all.

Dear Downpour:

Thanks for the horrible way you implemented your Black Friday sale. I really appreciate getting the 404 error when clicking on the promo. That's always a blast. I also appreciate not getting any email describing and alerting us to this sale. What's with that? And last but not least, I appreciate the fact that I've missed out on possibly 7 or so of your $0.99 hourly specials. You did a great job of keeping that a secret.

Other stores would do well to follow your business model for Black Friday. It's a surefire way to reduce sales and drive customers into the hands of stores who know what they're doing.

Oh, I sure hope you don't plan on doing a Cyber Monday sale. I don't think you can top what you did for Black Friday; but then, who knows?

Well thank you and you're very welcome. I've got hundreds of books too for very little money spent.

As to living forever, maybe we'll be allowed to take our digital content with us when we cross over? Much of it lives in the cloud, and hopefully, that's where we'll be heading

Wow. This downpour website is terrible. Their hourly countdown timer runs for 31 minutes then kicks out the same "$.99 special" over and over again. That is just appalling.

Before I threw up my hands in despair over the horrible navigation at Downpour, I came across The Indigo Girl for 99 cents--I suppose either it's been an hourly special, or it's an upcoming one; who can tell?

Based on historical documents, including Eliza’s letters, this is a historical fiction account of how a teenage girl produced indigo dye, which became one of the largest exports out of South Carolina, an export that laid the foundation for the incredible wealth of several Southern families who still live on today. Although largely overlooked by historians, the accomplishments of Eliza Lucas influenced the course of US history. When she passed away in 1793, President George Washington served as a pallbearer at her funeral.

This book is set between 1739 and 1744, with romance, intrigue, forbidden friendships, and political and financial threats weaving together to form the story of a remarkable young woman whose actions were before their time: the story of the indigo girl.

Worked here too, and I had a membership for nearly a year. Now need to set an Alexa reminder to cancel it before I get charged for another month.
