Several authors have multiple names in my authors list. For example, I have Michael Stackpole and Michael A. Stackpole. I have E. E. Smith, E. E. Doc Smith, and E. E. "Doc" Smith. When I try to correct "Michael Stackpole" in the left panel under authors to "Michael A. Stackpole," or "E. E. Smith" to "E. E. 'Doc' Smith", I'll receive an error message that a folder or folders couldn't be deleted. The corresponding eBooks are not open in Calibre nor another program. I'll take a look at the files, and indeed the folders are still there with the some of the book files themselves gone, while others remain and have not been copied to the correct author's name folder.
Is there any way to correct this issue? |

1)permission problems caused by security settings / A/V <Whitelist Calibre and the Library 2)you are ACTIVELY syncing the library. Stop it while using Calibre AND spend some time reading the official FAQ |

It's definitely not the second one. I will check into the first possible issue and the FAQ. Thank you!

By any chance did you simply have the book open in a viewer? (I would have expected the fail at the book delete level, not the folder level. Calibre copies, then deletes rather than a Move) |

I whitelisted both the Calibre folder and the library folder in my ESET NOD32 anti-virus, and continued to receive the error.
I then whitelisted Calibre in the HitmanPro anti-malware, and still received the error. I then disabled the HitmanPro anti-malware entirely, and it worked. So, for anyone else that uses the HitmanPro anti-malware, it needs to be entirely disabled to edit the metadata in Calibre. |
