So I was just able to cancel a friend's US membership which was at $14.95 and resubscribe straight away at $6.95 for 3 months using the below link. An added bonus is that it issued the first credit straight away which means she can now access the sale (she had no credits with the next not due for 3 weeks)

Free audible trial + 4 credits also worked for me using the Alexa app on my Fire HD10, so it doesn't have to be on an Echo. (Yippee!) Credits appeared in my account immediately - and I am not a new member... have used several special offers (Groupon etc.) but haven't been signed up as a member for some months before this. Thanks to original poster of the offer.
