I'm going STIR CRAZY. This morning I only had 4 cigarettes left (now down to two) and I just tried to drive, but the roads are a mess (cigarette place is ten minutes away downhill by car). To make matters worse, people at work seem to be taking advantage of me not being there by rescheduling my jobs, even though earlier today I expressly said I cannot have that happen. Plus my mom was giving me crap for wanting some chips with my pizza. I'm ready to snap.

Thanking the lord for small mercies.

Went trawling on the 'net' for a recipe for butternut squash in a soup.

Entering a site, I noticed a screenful of recipes, but the whole layout was in text - funny...

Then within 20 seconds I was getting virus/trogan alerts on the page, telling me I was infected and i HAD to download a program from Norton to clear the problem.

It was in a loop - cancel went back to the 'please download a program' - trying to exit the web page gave me 'your PC is infected please download software from Norton'...

All very believeable ....

Finally, after 5 minutes of this loop, I managed to close down the browser.

Running a deep scan with NIS has brought up nothing ....

But it's easy to see how things could catch the unwary out .....

I'm drowning in work and have felt the tension rise incrementally every day for weeks. I just took my blood pressure and it's 160 over 86. I feel like I'm about to explode. But if I rest, I'll get further behind. Somebody just shoot me now.

i really hope they're paying you a lot.

i can sympathise with you, i know how that feels. maybe you should take a mini-break, say 5 minutes every hour, and just close your eyes and breathe deeply and try to relax. you can spare 5 minutes to avoid explosion, work or no work.

so when is retirement ? (i wish i could retire NOW).

VR does look very tense. He's down to skin and bones. He doesn't even have any flowers anymore, so he can't "stop and smell the flowers". Hope things improve soon, VR!

I do hope that you manage to get on top of it all, VR.
Would it help to make a list of tasks with priorities built in?
Then, if it's utterly unmanageable, you could ask your line manager which should be put on hold, if he/she can't arrange for extra help.

I've been to the garden centre to buy a new stone bird bath. A very fat squirrel jumped heavily down on the old one, and toppled the basin, which smashed. I don't like squirrels.
