Depends what you mean by "working page numbers". Mobi page numbers are fine for keeping track of how many pages you've read (eg if you start reading on page 100, and you finish reading on page 170, then you really have read 70 pages). The only problem with them lies in using them to "jump" to a specific location in the book, but that's generally unnecessary, given the existance of hyperlinks and bookmarks.

Well actually, "d'ici Avril" means "until April". More or less the same meaning than "1st quarter".

And you can give up on misunderstanding. I have explained maybe ten times that "page number" is short for a numerical indication of position and not something that can be referenced faultlessly.

I would be very happy with the page numbers that all PDA and Mobilephone readers already have.

More, as April belongs to the 2nd quarter. :P Anyway, if everything goes right, in a couple of months it should be released.

Do they mean before April, or including April. Translating between languages is difficult. Especially when French is involved. It was the language of choise for diplomats during a few centuries. One of the reasons was that you can hide a lot in the language itself and the translation can go in any direction. So everyone in a big conference over some war could tell his followers they won

So far I have read about the firmware:

1 ) First part of the year, ends at June 30th
2 ) First quarter, meaning somewhere in the first 3 months
3a) Until April meaning before April but suggesting only 1-2 days before
3b) Until April meaning including April

And all of them can have three versions of the software. The 'normal' upgrade, only the PDF support is included or both are included

That gives us 9-12 different outcomes.

Whatever they do, if its done before the 1st of July, will be in line with at least one of the announcements.

I hope it will be normal + PDF tomorrow. But I expect 'normal' only on July 15th with an apology for the 2 weeks that they are late.

Few months ago they were promising it until the end of the year. I don't think they ever delivered a firmware update when they promised it the first time.

They do promise dates, only they get more and more specific once the date gets closer and closer. But they don't constantly move the date forward in time, like Bookeen does, and they don't go silent for half a year after promising an update by December.
