Ah yes, I see. Perfect. Could this be the last ereader I ever buy? (I'll wait for the reviews first.)

Not a bad idea..with shipping you probably still save $40. Would be great for those of us in the States if Walmart put it on sale for the Holidays as returns, if needed, are free and easy. It's unclear from the Canadian Kobo site if they charge a restocking fee.

The last time I ordered from Chapters, when I got my Aura One, shipping to the US had gone way up. There's a savings, but it's not nearly as much as it used to be and the savings won't be close to $40. I'll be interested to hear what it costs if anyone goes this route. At some level, it might be better to pay a little more for ship to Walmart, just to facilitate a possible return.

I tried a dummy order of the Aura One and shipping would be slightly over US$15, so say US$250 altogether for a savings of $30 (if shipping isn't more for the Forma). Dunno; if Walmart gave a discount for ship to store, it could be close (but there's no sales tax in my state; obviously sales tax calculations make this different for everyone).

Considering the green blotches on the Aura One and the light bleed on the Clara, waiting for the reviews is a good idea.

I like Kobo, but then they go and fumble the little things.

I couldn't find any mentioning of the DPI of that screen and is it really .2" bigger (the screen that is) than the A1? That's only half a centimeter....

Oh well, might buy me one anyways

Gotta love how all the hardcore Kobos are suddenly all over the wedge design. Gotta admit it’s done better on the Forma than on the Oasis.
I just wish that Amazon starts copying the Aura One now...

Zod, reactions to the Clara light bleed are very subjective. Personally, it doesn't bother me a bit.

It reminds me of the issue some people had with the old-school NOOKs flashing as they refreshed every sixth page turn. That one didn't bother me either, but I know some folks hated it.

As they say, YMMV.

I wouldn't ditch the cover so soon, yes, plastic doesn't break as easily, but it gets scratches easier...

Of course, Kobo has a history of using their larger-screened readers as their premium device and I can't fault them. But I sure would like the same device in a 6" form factor.

I still do have concerns about the shape of the device. At first blush, it looks more awkward than the Oasis. The Oasis is ugly because it was designed to be comfortable to hold. The Forma, with that wedge on the front putting the buttons on a decline away from your thumb doesn't seem right. And putting the power button where your palm rests? I don't know, Kobo...

I'm curious to see what the reviewers make of it.

Yeah, the shape is off-putting. I have the Oasis2 and it's not the least bit comfortable to hold plus has awkward button placement. I like the idea of a lighter, less fragile 8" Kobo, but not a fan of the squarish shape. It also looks like the buttons would be easy to accidentally press if you rarely use buttons.

I'll see what reviewers say. Maybe order from Walmart if reviews are positive, return if I hate it.

There's certainly no rush, I haven't damaged an ereader yet, and my Aura ONE is great. Wish they'd made it with a normal shape and Voyage style buttons that could be turned off.

I thought the plastic was replacing the fragile glass substrate? I definitely would not like the idea of a plastic screen.

You are correct; closer to $30, not $40. Shipping to NH is an option for me, which saves $15 in tax. Can't wait to read the reviews.

The back of the Clara is hard smooth plastic (=no grip), with lots of little perforated circles / holes (less surface area = less friction = even less grip). I really don't understand the design of the back (what happened to the velvety of rubbery backs of previous devices?). But I suppose how slippery it (the Clara's back) is depends on your hands. Greasy or sweaty? No problem. Dry and crackly? You'll keep dropping the Clara on your face / the settee [if you read on your back / your side].
