We had some good news today. The two kittens we're interested in have become available at the shelter. The shelter opens tomorrow at 10.30am, but we've got consulting hour until 11am, but after that my parents will go to the shelter. We're not sure if we can take them home tomorrow. It's two sisters and, according to their foster mom, they're very sweet.

I can't wait to have cats around again. Not only because I miss having cats but also because the mice activity has ramped up the last couple of days (I realize they won't start catching mice immediately, but hopefully their presence will scare away the mice).

Today we've picked up the kittens:

The black and white one is Luna, she's the smallest one and the cuddlebug, and she's not afraid to voice her need for attention. I seem to be the one she has chosen.

The black one is Maru, the biggest one. At first she was the more adventurous one, but she get scared by one of the toys and got a bit skittish after that.

This afternoon I spend several hours on the couch, first with Luna on me, later Maru joined in, but after a while it got too warm for her and she left. They're not sisters, but the grew up together and were only allowed to be adopted together.

The first week they have to stay in the living room, though I'll be surprised if that last that long; they're both very interested what's behind the door.

Oh, the wittle babies! They're precious.

We're having our place fumigated. Have to organize, throw what I could on top of the bed and cover everything with a comforter. I wonder if that'll be enough... Then there's the food in the pantry... It's gonna be a long morning.

A good day today. Both Luna and Maru have now discovered my talent for sitting still for a long time, which makes me ideal for sleeping on and demanding cuddles from. We've never had such cuddly cats, I hope they stay that way. They slept most of the day, which is understandable after the last couple of days; moving from their foster home to the shelter and then to us.

Second, Lush released their Christmas products today, so I stocked up. They used to have a Christmas shower gel called Glögg, which was a favourite of my sister and me. But they haven't had it for years. A couple of years they had one that was fairly close. This year they have Cinders, which is even closer I discovered during my shower tonight. I will have to get another bottle tomorrow!

Finally, I figured out why there were still mice in my rooms, mainly my computer/craft room. I thought I had removed all foods, except the ones in my fridge. But tonight I remembered that for Christmas my sister gave all of us a small chocolate Christmas tree. Although I don't hate chocolate I need to be in the mood for it to eat it. I had put the bag with the tree on my desk and had forgotten all about it. I went looking and found the bag, with a hole in it and no more chocolate. I threw out the bag, hopefully removing the scent and making the mice move on to another place where they can find food.

It did make me realize I really need to clean my desk before the kittens are allowed in the rest of the house, so that'll be my Monday chore.

I spent the whole day (and last night) configuring my desktop. It's now like an android device (somewhat)! Stardock's Fences and IconDeveloper are well worth it. I just finished improving on... creating an animated McGonagall cursor using a trial version of IcoFX. I'm such a nerd. I feel the need to do my homework as soon as possible with Prof. McGonagall staring at me everytime I look at the screen. lol

Monday is chore day, I've already started on the laundry. This afternoon I plan to clean up my desk. And when the shops open in the afternoon (on Monday many stores are closed in the morning or even all day) I'm going to get new hiking shoes.

Yesterday my sister asked me for reading recommendations for our vacation. So I offered her the use of my spare Kindle Paperwhite. Last night I've charged it, this morning I reset it and checked if it needed to be updated, it didn't, and I've just put some books on it I think she'll like.

Looking into Sleephones. I've been considering getting a special headphone or earbuds for in bed. I like to listen to podcasts before going to sleep and to a white noise app whilst falling asleep. But I sleep on my side, and my regular earbuds are uncomfortable.

There seem to be a lot of different ones available. But if I get one I want a good one, preferably one that's got Bluetooth, since I tend to move around in my sleep. The latest model's got wireless charging, so I have to decide whether or not it's worth the extra money. The SleepPhones Effortless are €135 at Amazon Germany. Not cheap by any means, but if they work it'll be worth the money.

I was just browsing their website and found these Light Dims, which is a product for me: I hate the bright LEDs most electronic devices come with nowadays (I can't use my bigger Bluetooth headphones in the dark, because of the blinky LED, which either lights up the room or reflects in my tablet screen).
