Any news on when KOBO ereader will be at walmart?

I just went in to my local Walmart the other day (I usually avoid the place like the plague). They had no devices for sale and no empty clips to display them (unless they were separate from the section that had all the book gift cards).

You're right. It no longer shows that there is a pickup discount in the description but it comes up when you put the Clara in the cart. In Fort Worth, Texas the discount is just slightly more than the tax (which is nice).

Have you managed to pick up one of these yet?

EDIT: I see there is also still $14.xx pickup discount for the Aura One as well. Which is also just slightly more than the tax in Fort Worth.

I'm not 100% sure I'm understanding your question correctly, but if you mean you want the light colour to stay put without automatically changing hue depending on the time of the day: you can switch the automatic colour change off in the light menu, either by toggling the 'slider' button or by just moving the colour tone scale indicator thing at the bottom (that will automatically switch off the auto-setting)...

I went to one of my local Walmarts today--there are several close to me. I searched both the electronics and books area of the store and couldn't find any hint of a Kobo display--either readers or even just gift cards. Out of curiosity, I'll try and check out a few other area stores in the coming weeks.

When you turn it on says Walmart ... has Light Bleed & tho I turned Off the Auto Adjust on the Lights I still cant get the Blue Lights to show Blue. Its either White or yellowish. That's the Cons.

Letters are Chrisp... quite a jump from 250ppi to 300ppi The feel holding it is nice good grip even for my old hands I going to really enjoy reading on it once all my ebooks are on it ...almost there That's the Pros.

Unfortunately there never were any blue leds planned. The comfort light was meant purely as a blue light filter, not as a custom white balance filter. Sure, you can (ab)use it as a custom white balance filter on the Kobo, but only insofar as mixing the white leds with the red/orange leds goes. I am not 100% sure, but you can even turn the white leds completely off and just have the orange ones on. It is cheaper that way by using only single color leds instead of RGB leds that can be fully customized.

Does anyone know if the Walmart tag can be turned off by changing vendors? My refurbed Aura originally said FNAC and I switched it off. I assume it can be done. But I have no first hand experience with the Walmart models, so don't want to make promises.

If so no reason it would not work. It's not as if Kobo have different firmware for the different vendors.

mine starts up with the walmart logo even when i login into a regular kobo account.
