Update done, nothing new Re-read of the meta-data done without change. Some cover are not displayed.

More problematic, impossible to have access to the abstract of the book. When I select 'Properties' on a book, a window is open that show some informations, a line propose to change the separator of meta-data, by default the comma. In the bottom of the window, some text is cut. It's seems impossible to modify window's size or to move the text in the window to see an abstract. There is no problem with Librera.

Tried contacting booxtor via his store but got no reply. So thought I ask it here.

Every time a new update for the Max2 is out I get an installation error (see attached photograph). Last time I solved it by doing a full factory reset. That works but it requires me to buy all applications again due to the google play issues.

Is there another way to get the update without the full reset?

OK, so no reply from anyone. I have reset all data and managed to install the update. Three hours later everything is back up and running. Luckiliy enough while using the browser this time the device recognized my previous purchases. That saves me US$10 every 3 months or so for a decent mail app... Just wasted three hours this time... on a device that cost me a lot.

Anyway, found some issues that I'm not sure are general or specific to my device...
a) I'm using Nova launcher as my home screen (and was before). Now everytime I go into the content browser it will not respond to back (or home) and go back to Nova. I have to kill content browser and then everything is OK again...
b) in note I cannot select the eraser; it flips back to pen. Also the back of my pen does not do anything (erasing etc). Is my pen faulty or is this a bug in the app?

Note app is much improved. All the basic issues with the android version are still there and while play store compatibility seems to have improved security stuff and launcher (and auto start) is still governed by Onyx instead of me. So can't install blackberry work due to security restrictions in the firmware... For a business device it is crappy at the price I'm paying for it even though the screen is great!

The eraser should work now while using the pen AND clicking on its middle button.
But it seems to me that the back of the pen still works.

My pen does not have a middle button... Only the pen point and an eraser on the back...

OK, found an old pen with a button and now the eraser indeed works. Can somebody confirm that the back end of the original pen does still work with the new firmware? EIther my pen is faulty or this is still a bug. Using the old pen (from my Irex DR800) now as standard pen. It even has a clip ;-)

Hello friends, my Max Boox has arrived and I'm happy with it. For my use, a question has arisen. What would be the best way to use the device and conserve the battery, considering that I always have a power outlet? In other words, would it be possible to use only the power of the charger and leave the battery resting? would that be good for the power battery? Or would it be better to leave the battery charged all the time? I have read that li-on batteries are best conserved if they are charged between 40 to 80%.

For long term storage the battery has to be charged, and the best results are if it's charged about 80%.

I don't want to dig why are you concerned about the battery. Its capacity is so big that even when it looses half of it it would still be quite fine. There was the indiegogo campaign from good-e-reader 13" which had battery of half the capacity and no one was concerned about that. I use my phone as wifi router at home so I keep it connected to the charger most of the time. The battery is almost like new after 2 years. Of course I take the phone with me when I go out so normal discharge/charge cycles apply. Based on that I suppose if you are going to use the battery anyway once in a while I guess it's fine to keep it fully charged.

Neo reader issues
I'm installing update 1.9.1 so soon I'll use it. I can see from the changelog that many bugs were fixed in the app but I don't see the one I'm experiencing the most: sometimes the page turns prev/next jump to random page

- skimming through the pdf book, page by page, looking for something sometimes randomly tapping right edge for next page jumps to the beginning of the book
- looking around some chapter, pressing back, forth, a few pages, I mean randomly like two pages forth, one back, three forth, 2 back, sometimes the previous or back does the opposite i.e. I press on the right hand side and I see next page or I press on the left hand side and I jump few pages back or to next page....

This bug does not happen often but still. I bet anyone can reproduce it. I can live with it however I just wanted to report it. It would be nice to have it fixed.

The latest update totally ruined the Knotes app !! Now the buttons for turning page do not work anymore, they are just for changing the volume, something I never do! What a waste of buttons !

Are you sure you don't just have to switch the mode, through the immediate control panel on the right of the status bar, NE of the screen?

I would just like to follow the reading progress report. Before the upgrade there was the app for this. now i can not find it.
is there any good third-party application producing such read progress reports?
