I just came back inside. I've been standing on the front steps, soaking up the sights and sounds. The slushy hiss of the nearby road...the wet plopping sound when a glob of snow slips off the roof and impacts the ground...the gleeful but muted shouts of boys having a snowball fight in a heavy snow shower...the little fluffed out and confused bird perched on a protected low limb...a man walking along a row of cars, occasionally scooping a handful of wet snow off the nearest one and tossing the quickly formed snowball over his shoulder at the playful giggling boy following him.

Ahhh...today is a good day.

Hmmm! Snow here is not the same. It's as hard as concrete because of the cold and will not stick to itself. When you try it crumbles to powder. No fun in that! Unless you like skiing though!

We had our spring teaser Friday, but we're back to snow today. It was supposed to be just flurries until tonight, then heavier through tomorrow, but it started to get serious by mid-afternoon (it's almost 5pm here now) and we came home early from visiting friends. There may not be school tomorrow, though the kids have missed so many days already (due to the ice storm) that they're really trying to avoid having more days out if possible. I was supposed to have an appointment tomorrow, as well, but that may not be feasible.

I'm getting my snow day!!

Just heard on the radio that my office will be closed tomorrow.

It has been snowing continuously since noon today. Ok, I know some of you will laugh but this is the most snow I've seen. It's up to my ankles.

I lost power for a couple of hours but it's back now. There's a possibility it will go out again tonight because the wind is starting to pick up. Wind, snow, falling limbs and trees, and power lines tend to be a rather bad combination. The wet snow and slush will probably freeze tonight making for very hazardous roadways. I won't be past my front steps tomorrow.

This is is one of the funniest snow pictures I've seen. Caesar Dawgustus doesn't look too happy to have snow on his head.

Absolutely gorgeous, mid 70's to low 80 degree days.......blue skies, spring training.........and one more week of school,then a week off for spring break!

And my 20 yr old granddaughter actually has enough sense to decide, on her own, that going to Mexico for spring break this year isn't such a good idea....oh, happy days.

Oh, you mean outside? I think it's about the same temp as inside (or should I say, inside is about the same temp as outside?)

I think I'll move to Marc's and warm my feet again...
