Kindle Voyage

Well, this is really disappointing. I love my Voyage. I love the flush screen, the haptic buttons and the small size. Hope mine lasts a long time.

This is unsurprising but very sad. I still feel the contrast and screen is better than the Oasis 2. I hope mine has a long life. It doesn't feel like a model made in 2014.

They must be gone again – my search only brings up refurbished (and used) ones.

They had refurbished ones still available in the UK just recently, but even they are gone now. I echo cgsmom's comments, the size, flush screen (love how the text almost appears printed on the screen) & haptic buttons make this the perfect Kindle for me. I'll just need to keep my fingers crossed it goes on working for a long time, as if I had to replace it now, I would be at a loss as to what to replace it with.

I have been using and loving my Oasis 2 since it came out last autumn, but my perfect Kindle would be a 7 inch Voyage with 32gb storage, the other aspects the same as the original Voyage. The form factor was the best for me.

So, sunday night I panicked and ordered a refurbished Voyage for $139 from Amazon, to use as a backup instead of my PW2.
This morning I checked my order and saw 12 new ones back in stock.
Just cancelled my sunday order, not yet shipped, and ordered a new Voyage for $199.99, and choosed the $44 a month payment option.
Not sure what Amazon is doing with the Voyage <sigh>.

Something fishy is going on if a dozen or so show up new every 3 days or so.

They're probably getting the last bits of stock together from other retailers etc. Not unusual upon discontinuation of a product.
Maybe they are also releasing the rest of the stock in batches to simulate scarcity. That way they can sell for full price and people will still think they got a good deal...

This makes sense, just wish it was a liquidation price.
I am just glad I now have a spare, this reader has the sharpest text display of all the Kindles I have, even of the Oasis 2.

If I remember right, this same kind of thing happened when they kept selling out the "last" of the DXs. Eventually they quit coming back.

I didn't think of that. No telling how long those have been gathering dust, and my main interest in a new Voyage is that the battery in mine is 4 years old.

I was very tempted to get a refurbished one with the cellular option being only $20 more (instead of $75 more). Still talking myself out of it as I have plenty of ereaders (but only ONE Voyage!!).
