Amazon or Smashwords??
I'm working on a small non-fiction book about getting the pre-writing work for NaNoWriMo done quickly. I was wondering which market others who have put books out found easier to use or gave the greater exposure between Amazon and Smashwords. Thanks.

For maximum eyes, put it at both. It needs to be on as many sites as possible.
As long as you don't choose select at Amazon, you can publish everywhere. Oh and in answer to what you asked me, I don't think it needs a foreword by someone else. That would distract more than attract for that type of book. |

I found Smashwords to be such a hassle, it's not even worth using, Crich.
Theoretically, you'd put your book on B&N, Kobo, iBookstore and Google Bookstore (another one not a lot of fun to navigate), but realistically, for maximum exposure in the short run, from my experience, Amazon Select is the way to go. |

I'd say both as well. I can't think of any downside. You can always put it on Amazon first and then follow up at Smashwords.

Yes to your question, but replace the 'or' with an 'and'.

Draft2Digital is another site to consider. D2D distributes to a number of different sites also.
I use all three platforms. It has been difficult getting traction on Smashwords and D2D in comparison to the Gorilla (Amazon). |
