How to maintain Author info page in calibre

			Hello everybody,

I was wondering whether it would be possible to maintain in calibre a dedicated page dedicated to each author's information (bio, pic, list of works, etc.) a bit similar to what is possible with a software program such as BookCATs. I would be very interested by any shared experience. Many thanks in advance. Cheers. Patrik |

You'd probably be best asking in the Calibre forum but it's an interesting idea.

The only thing that occurs to me is that you could create a "book" for the author with perhaps the info (briefly) on the cover and make the "title" numeric so it's at the top of the list. But I'm sure someone will have a better idea. Good luck! |

@bernie - I've put in a request to move this thread to the calibre/library management forum - I can't move threads that exist outside the calibre forum. One needs a Green Card to move things elsewhere any time ![]() BR Last edited by BetterRed; 08-05-2018 at 04:56 AM. |

Firstly apologies for not knowing your name and asking about it. Secondly thanks a lot for your reply about using Evernote in conjunction with calibre. I will give the idea a try. Cheers. Patrik |

Further your reply suggesting to link calibre and Evernote for maintaining book and author info pages I installed Evernote that I'm learning to use and I created a Notes custom column as per your indications. I have been able to link my first EN to a specific book record in my calibre library. So far so good. However as it is info related to a specific author and not a specific book could you help in letting me know how to link the note not to Book but to Author so this info could be available from any book by the Author? Many thanks in advance. Cheers. Patrik |

Easiest way to get to the Authors entry in the Manage Authors list is via the Author's right click menu in the Book Details panel, viz Then when you click on the Author's name in the Book Details panel of any book by that Author the EN note for that Author will display. BR |

![]() BTW: you could use MS OneNote (ON) instead of EN. My usage of EN is part historical: ON didn't exist when I started using EN; and part functional: I can use the EN links on Android to access the same Author Notes from Calibre Companion (or similar) - I'm not sure I could do that with ON. I wish calibre had something similar, i.e a calibre:///blah-blah uri to a book that I could copy and paste into another application. But, I don't expect to see my wish fulfilled any time soon.
