It going to be really hot today (for Dutch standards), up to 34C, which means that where I am it'll more likely be around 40C. Tomorrow temperatures might rise a little bit higher. I'm glad I've taken tomorrow off and I can just sit still and read. It also means the next two nights will be warm.

On Saturday it's going to be 25-27C with rain most of the day and followed by a nice, cool night.

Finally a break in the heat today. Yesterday the official temperature was just over 35C, outside in the garden of where I'm house sitting the thermometer reached 42C.

During the night we got a thunderstorm and it cooled down to around 20C. Today it'll be rainy until about mid afternoon and it'll only be 24-25C. Tonight temperatures are dropping to around 13C. Which is going to be a relief.

It cooled down nicely yesterday, though it was humid due to the rain. During the night it cooled down even further, not only did I not have to have a fan on when sleeping (first time in weeks) but I needed a blanket. Today and tomorrow will be warmer, both the days and nights, but not as bad as earlier this week.

We had a nice day, yesterday. Afternoon temperatures briefly spiked in the low 90s (F), but mostly stayed in the mid-80s. Humidity was tolerable and there was a mix of sun and clouds.

Today should be much the same except for higher humidity and a chance of thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

Yesterday it was a bit warmer than predicted. But in the evening it cooled down quicker and more than predicted, too.

Today and tomorrow will be relatively cool, in comparison to last week. Today there's also going to be some rain. From Thursday temperatures are set to rise again. Luckily the nights are predicted to be cooler than last week.

Yesterday we broke the record for most 90+ DegF days in a month for my area. Today we will probably add to it but right now it's a pleasant 76 DegF and hazy/smoky (from the wildfires in the region.) Hazy enough that even though there are blue skies I can't see Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, or Mt. Adams outside my windows like I can on most summer days.

Another warm day, 26-28C but not as windy as yesterday. They are now predicting a second official heatwave (for most of the country the first heatwave is still continuing, but where they take the official measurements temperatures dropped below 25C on Saturday).

It's better than last week's heatwave, so far, because the nights are cooler. But I'm getting fed up with this heat and the average for this time of year, 22C, sounds great to me.
