Low humidity isn't a big problem for me. It's still 35-40% most days. It makes it easier for me to deal with the heat, though I do have to hydrate my skin and hair more.

My father has suggested to on Thursday I start two hours early, before the store opens. There's enough to do to keep me occupied even without customers. I'll keep the door open, but the doorway blocked (so no customers can get in) in an attempt to cool down the store. That way I only have to work until noon, and I'll be back at my friends' place before it gets really hot.

I'm already looking forward to the somewhat cooler weekend. Especially Saturday night and Sunday morning, when it's supposed to cool down nicely.

One good thing about this weather is that it's great for reading.

Just finished watering the newly planted lawn ... funnily enough I didn't mind at all getting sprinkled on when I moved the sprinkler heads around the yard ....

Contemplating getting a new 4 cup coffee maker. Mine decided to stop functioning this morning. It was good for heating water for instant soup and hot tea.

Whilst moving the sprinkler heads around on the lawn, I noticed a flock of small birds flying through the misting sprinkler -- taking baths in flight and settling on the bushes for longer showers ... smart birds ... very hot & humid today

Waiting for the supermarket to open. Tonight I'm going to try out my mini cheese fondue set and I need to get a couple things to dip with. Whilst waiting I'm doing some online window shopping.

Checking the million and one things you try not to forget,when packing for a holiday! First real holiday in 20 years and back to tenting,after being spoiled for ages in motor homes etc!

Hoping for a quiet day today.

One of the houses next door to my friends' house use to house students. Apparently it has been sold. Last week the new owners came in a couple of nights to renovate the place. It was only for a couple of hours each night and although there was a lot of hammering it wasn't too bad. Yesterday they started at 9am and they had a table saw in the backyard that sounded unbalanced and made more noise than it should have. They left around 6pm.

I don't mind them working on their new house, I don't mind the noise. But nine hours of screeching table saw was too much for me.

So today I'm first going to run some errands, then clean the downstairs and after that I'm going to enjoy the quiet and take it easy.

Checking final packing,as I depart in about two hours for my first holiday in twenty years! Camping in a lovely area I know well,and have visited many times, but even so, an actual holiday! Really looking forward to this!

I also had come coloring bug in me. Started doing some free coloring pages like that - http://colorkid.net/coloring-pages-a...-wonders-world
I will probably go and buy some larger and more intricate coloring book to smear.

I love colouring, it's very relaxing. I've brought my watercolouring colouring book with me to where I'm house sitting. It's just been so warm that I haven't done any yet since water evaporates quickly and the fan I have aimed at me doesn't help either. Maybe tomorrow, when it's cooler.

Just over a year ago the museum next door closed. We were afraid that in that huge building a restaurant and/or party center would come, which would cause noise problems. At best we hoped for a hotel (since they don't want to disturb their own guests).

However, today there were posters on the windows that a furniture and home accessories store is opening soon. I checked their website and they have fun, but expensive, things. They want to open in November. A plus for us is that they have a big selection of light fixtures, but not a lot of bulbs (at least on their website). Which is great for us. If we could work together it would be great. We often get people looking for light fixtures, we can send those of and they can send people who want lightbulbs for their new fixture.
