Hi, Thanks to Rkomar great work who developed pbimageviewer we are able to add CBR and CBZ formats on pocketbook devices (such as InkPad 3), see there : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=162852 Maybe other devices can handle CBZ and CBZ files (I am thinking about Onyx Boox devices). We recently had a discussion on metadata management for these files and it sounds like this could be handled by Calibre, see there : https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...162852&page=31 To summarize the request, would it be possible : - to handle metadata in CBR and CBZ files in a separate file or in zip header as described there https://wiki.mobileread.com/wiki/CBR_and_CBZ#Metadata, - transfer as is (i.e. no EPUB nor PDF conversion) CBR and CBZ files to the device while adding metadata to the device database. Thank you in advance for your answer. Regards. |

You can configure any device driver in calibre to send any format without conversion. Simply right click the device icon in calibre and choose configure this device. And calibre already reads cbz/cbr metadata. It does not however write it. That is because the technique of storing metadata in comments is not suitable for calibre metadata (comments are too limited in size). |

Hi, Indeed, it is possible to add CBR and cbz file formats to the device in Calibre and then to transfer a specific file format to it. But, is there a way to add metadata in the same time ? When I transfer a cbz file to the Pocketbook 740 from Calibre, metadata are not transfered as well (cover, keywords, author, etc.). Thank you in advance for your answer. Regards. |

There is a Embed Comic Metadata plugin which may do what you want depending on the ability of the comic reader you use to read either a zip comment or the ComicInfo.xml embedded in the zip archive. | |
