Since I started using ereaders I've bought about 15 different devices on my search for the perfect one for me. Currently I own 4 different models:

A Kindle Paperwhite for being connected to the Amazon system; I hardly use it, though. A Kobo Clara HD for portability and using Pocket; I also love the Kobo reading software. I had a Glo HD before which I sold. A Pocketbook Ultra, also for portability and better PDF handling; I mostly used this one on the go before I bought the Clara. I'll keep it because it's a rare model. A Pocketbook Inkpad 3 for PDF handling, larger screen size and a luxurious reading experience at home. Each device has its advantages and specific situations of use. Also, I like to switch the software from time to time. Gesendet von meinem SM-T585 mit Tapatalk |

I have lots of devices, but that doesn't really answer your question. The problem you are having is your battery power going flat earlier than you think it should. Read the ad blurb for your unit to find out exactly what their parameters are (typically 30 min. a day with lights and wifi Off) and time how much you are using your reader. If the battery power is gone well before the expected time, then you have a dud and should replace it. If the battery power is gone because you read for extended amounts of time, then, I think you should consider having two units to manage your reading time accordingly.

As to my devices, you only need to look below my dinosaur image to see I have tons of devices and yes, I need to sell some of them. My personal favorites are the Voyage and the Kindle Keyboard. Among other things, the power in them lasts and lasts between charges. Last edited by Tarana; 07-23-2018 at 06:30 PM. |

I have multiple devices because there's no single perfect device out there.

My general purpose e-reader is the Nook. When I'm reading at home, this is what I normally reach for. I bought a Kobo Mini to have an ultra-portable reader that I can bring with me on the go. A feature of the Kobo I really like is the ability to sync with and read internet articles saved to Pocket. I also have an iPad Mini and this is used for PDFs, textbooks, and children's books. |

			I currently have:

2 Kobo Glo's (original model) 2 Kobo Mini's 2 Kobo Aura's (original model) 1 Kobo Glo HD 2 Kindle Paperwhite's and a Kobo Clara on order. Out of the Kobo devices that I have I am only disappointed with the Aura'a, as it is impossible to swap out the internal memory for a larger card. |

I Have a Kindle Paperwhite and a Kobo Aura One. I bought the first in february 2017 because Amazon has the largest store. I just bought the Aura One because of the 7.8". Now the Aura One is my preferred ereader and I use the Paperwhite when I am not home and the Aura One is too big to take with me.

I decided to keep the H2O because I just couldn't justify having two ereaders. I honestly love the Clara HD and the size of that reader but the waterproof feature is really important to me, as I read a lot in the bath, near the pool and on the beach. I'll see with time, if I ever feel that I need a smaller one for whatever reason when I'm on the go, but for now I just couldn't justify it!

I have two devices---one is a Kindle Touch that still does text to speech and the other is an Oasis that lets me read with the lights out/minimizes usage on my the NOS Touch I tracked down.

That's an interesting dilemma. When I had a Kobo Mini and a KA1 in the house, it was easy to see the superiority of the KA1 over the mini, despite its compact size. I also have a Kindle Paperwhite (gen7), an iPad with almost every ereader app known to man, and an iPhone with all the same apps. I only read on the iPhone when stuck in line. I download just the current book I'm reading. I am comfortable on all of my eReaders, though I love my KA1 for dedicated, distraction free reading, especially at night.

Battery with H20 2 should be *excellent*

I have more e-readers than I care to admit, and have owned just about all of them at one time or other, but tha't neither here not there, just a bit of bragging before I get to the import point....

There should be no reason whatsoever for the battery life of the H20 to be poor compared to Clara. The Aura One has relatively poor battery life, (but relatively, it should still be good enough to do the job, but when your used to readers that last for 30+ hours, it is noticeable.) But the battery of the H202 is the same capacity as the one in the Clara, and the slightly larger screen does not make that much of an impact that you would notice. Either there is something really wrong with your H20, or you have a file/database problem/software update that problem, that is keeping the device from entering low power sleep properly. |
