Shouldn't be a problem. I seem to recall others who've switched to Vista without difficulties. Be sure and let us know how it does work.

My computer runs Vista and I have had no problems using ebook Library, Book Designer and Calibre with my 505. As far as I can see the software works exactly the same with Vista as it does with XP.

Just one thing to keep in mind. You will need to deregister your old PC before you get rid of it, or reformat or whatever. You can only do it when logged in from that PC. If you forget to do that the only way to free up that slot will be to call Customer Service.

I can see why you are getting a new laptop, the "period" key seems to be broken.

As for vista. I've been using the beta of win7 for the last couple of weeks and no problem with sony or calibre with my 505.

best of luck with the new pc

Not that you'd probably really want to do this, but if Vista is just plain incompatible with what you need to run, you could run Windows XP virtually. That is, run it inside a window on your Windows Vista machine.

Mac users do this all the time to run Windows XP. We use either VMWare or Parallels. Both of those programs are also available for the Windows world, which of course is of limited use for most people (since Windows users already have Windows, duh). However, if you have a specific WinXP need, it would be one solution.

Then again, another (and maybe preferable) solution would just be to uninstall Vista from your new machine, and put XP on it. Congrats on the spiffy new laptop in any case!

Isn't double dutch a form of jumping rope?

But don't worry about sigma's advice. It should be unnecessary.
